ALL IN ONE MINI OCTOPUS - AMIGURUMI PATTERN

By Criss Wall

I started crocheting small toys to leave around for

people to find. It turned out to be so much fun I can’t
stop making them! I decided to start writing some
small simple patterns for a few of the toys I make. I
know that there are heaps of beautiful Octopus
patterns out there already. I specifically wanted an
Octopus pattern that didn’t involve cutting and retying
the yarn. I have a larger octopus pattern available as
well.

Notes:

 Usual hook sizes are a 4mm hook with 10

ply/Aran yarn and a 3.5mm hook with 8ply/DK.
 They measure around 6cm wide and 4 cm
high.
 I use about 10 metres of yarn for each mini
Octopus using 8ply/DK and a 3.5mm hook.
 They take approx. 15 mins each.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Row 1 SC 6 into a magic ring
Row 2 Increase in each SC around (12 stitches)
Row 3 *INC, SC 1*, repeat around (18 stitches)
Row 4-6 SC 18 (18 stitches)
Row 7 “DEC, SC 1* repeat around (12 stitches)
Eyes Add your safety eyes now.
Row 8 “DEC, SC 1* repeat around (8 stitches)
Row 9 SC 8 (8 stitches)
Row 10 Slip stitch into the front loop of the next stitch, *Chain 6, SC 2 in each chain
back to the beginning, slip stitch into the front loop of the next stitch* repeat 7
more times excluding the last slip stitch of the last leg. (8 legs). For the last
slip stitch put it in the back loop of the next stitch instead of the front loop.
STUFF Stuff the octopus with medium stuffing at the head but very light stuffing
towards the neck/bottom.
Bind Bind off and leave a long tail. Using your needle, thread around the bottom of
the unworked 8 stitch hole of the Octopus and pull closed. This hole doesn’t
need to be pulled super tight. Tie off and thread the long tail back up through
the body out the top of the head.
