CHAPTER III

METHODS AND PROCEDURE

This chapter discusses how the researcher strategizes to integrate the different

components of the research study in a coherent logical way. The population and locale of

the study pinpointed the number of respondents that the researchers dealt with and for the

respondents to answer the survey questionnaires through Google form. The researchers

identified the place of their study. Instrument and data analysis were also discussed to

explain how the researchers collected and interpreted the data. Ethical consideration is

part of the rightful judgment of undergoing research study.

Research Design

The researchers used the descriptive research method with the questionnaire as

the main data-gathering instrument and converted it to google form before they

distributed to the selected respondents to gather the needed information. The researchers

used descriptive method because it is a design to depict the participants in an accurate

way, and it is considered conclusive due to its quantitative nature. The main idea behind

using type of research is to better define an opinion, an attitude, or behavior held by a

group of people in a given subject.

Population and Locale of the Study

This study was conducted online. Researchers use an online platform, specifically

google form to conduct the survey.

The respondents were limited to the selected Senior High School teachers in the

Province of Pangasinan. Using random sampling formula, the researchers were able to

get a total of fifty (50) SHS teachers as respondents.

Instrumentation/Sources of Data

The main data gathering instrument used in this study was the survey

questionnaire converted into Google form for the identified respondents. The

questionnaire (appendix C) was comprised into two parts: The preparations that the

respondents do in e-learning; and The barriers that the respondents encountered in e-

learning. The draft of the questionnaire was submitted to the Research Teacher.

Suggestions from the Research Teacher was incorporated to the final questionnaire to

make items congruent with each specific problem. Other sources of data used in the study

were observation, documentation, and Internet.

Data Analysis/ Treatment of Data

In this study, the researchers utilized the following statistical tools in the analysis

of the data.

Frequency count, percentage, and rank were utilized.

the formula used was:

f
P= x 100
n

Where:

P = percentage

f = frequency count

n = total number of respondents

The data obtained from the first two specific problems were the frame of

reference in the formulation of the proposed action plan.

Ethical Consideration

The respondents were asked to answer the survey questionnaire voluntarily after

the researchers had informed them about the aims and objectives of the study.

Information gathered from the authors were also cited and acknowledge accordingly. No

degrading or discriminatory or offensive words were used and the researchers have

observed utmost confidentiality and anonymity in the administration of questionnaires.

No questions that would violate the privacy of the respondents were asked. The

information gathered from the respondents were kept confidential.
