Eduardo I, (State your Name) , promise to serve to The Lord as a Social
“Ponpon” Vasquez, OMI, Spiritual Director of the
Social Communications Ministry of the Diocesan Shrine of Our
Lady of Grace Parish, I am presenting to you the full-fledged
and members of the Social Communications Ministry. We wish
to start anew our promise to serve the Lord in His altar by
communicating His word to His flock. (SocCom members to
light candles from the paschal candle)
Fr. Ponpon Vasquez, OMI: My dear brethren by water and the
Holy Spirit you are already consecrated to God. What shall you
ask of God and His church?
SOCCOM Members: We wish to start anew our promise to
serve the Lord in His altar by communicating His word.
Fr. Ponpon Vasquez, OMI: please state your promise
SOCCOM Members: In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in
the presence of the Most Holy Trinity, of the Blessed Virgin
Mary, of St. Eugene De Mazenod and all of you my brothers
and sisters who are gathered here, and before you Rev. Fr.
Eduardo “Ponpon” Vasquez, OMI, Spiritual Director of the
Social Communications Ministry of the Diocesan Shrine of Our
Lady of Grace Parish, and holding in my regard, the place of
God,
Communicator for one year here at the Diocesan Shrine of Our
Lady of Grace Parish. May the Lord use my eyes, body, and
soul to convey His message to His people. May He strengthen
my soul against bodily and spiritual temptations. May the Holy
Spirit guide me to be able to focus on “speaking with the heart”
for it is the heart that spurred us to go, to see, and to listen, and
it is the heart that moves us towards and open and welcoming
way of communicating. May we not be afraid of proclaiming
the truth, even if it is at times uncomfortable, but of doing so
without charity, without heart. May the Lord Jesus, the pure
Word poured out from the heart of the Father, help us to make
our communication clear, open and heartfelt. May the Lord
Jesus, the Word made flesh, help us listen to the beating of
hearts, to rediscover ourselves as brothers and sisters, and to
disarm the hostility that divides. May the Lord Jesus, the Word
of truth and love, help us speak the truth in charity, so that we
may feel like protectors of one another. So help me God.
