First, I want to thank you for your instruction. This is one of the first English
classes I have taken at DMACC. Learning from your lessons makes me feel like my
English is getting better step-by-step. After finishing this class I hope I can advance in
English.
For the first assignment that you gave to us which was about “Why I am Taking
This Class”, I had to write it into two paragraphs. It was hard for me because I did not
write too many paragraphs in English before. At that time, I could not help thinking about
what I had to write and how I wrote those paragraphs. However, your guidance and the
provided example paragraphs proved invaluable. They helped me envision the structure
and content of my essay, making the writing process much smoother. Writing the essay
about “Why I am Taking This Class” helped me understand my reasons even better. As I
thought about it, I realized that writing could help me get a deeper interest in the subject.
Writing it was not that bad, and it made me even more determined to achieve my goals.
Then, the second assignment, writing a literacy narrative composition was a bit
more challenging. There was not any given topic and I had to figure out what I would
write about. After a few minutes of brainstorming, I decided to choose the “How I
Learned English in Vietnam” topic. Thinking about the way I learned English in Vietnam
brought back lots of memories. Nevertheless, this topic was not easy to write; “How I
Learned English in Vietnam” made me remember my past, and wonder which descriptive
vocabulary I should use to describe the details of the paragraphs. This assignment took
me a lot of time to finish. Although writing these paragraphs was difficult, it helped
I want to express my sincere gratitude for your engaging teaching and insightful
guidance. You have created a space where learning feels motivated and inspired, and I
Sincerely,
