15. Under an enlargement centre (a , b) and scale factor 2, a point P(−3, 1) is mapped onto P′(3,−1) . Find
the centre of enlargement. (3 marks)

17. Three points A(1, 3), B(13, 11) and C(6,15) are shown in the diagram below. The perpendicular from C to
AB meets AB at D.
Find:
(a) equation of line CD; (3 marks)
(b) Drop a perpendicular from C to line AB, and hence determine the area of triangle ABC.(3 marks)
(c) The perpendicular bisector of line AC intersects with the perpendicular to line BA passing
through A at point X. Measure AX. (3 marks)
(b) Town E and Town F are 240 km apart. Jason left Town E at 9.00 a.m travelling at an average
speed of 60 km/h. Karen left Town E travelling at an average speed of 90 km/h sometime later
than Jason and overtook him at 11.00 a.m.
(i) At what time did Karen leave Town E. (4 marks)
