Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am writing to ask for your consent to allow your child to participate in Thinkers’ Tour: An Immersive Philosophical Reflection as
a pre-requisite to the midterm requirement in the course Introduction to Philosophy of the Human Person (TSH-PHILO).

Conducting an educational visit to nearby places that prompt philosophical reflections on the branches of philosophy as well as the
human person as an embodied spirit in his/her environment extends students’ understanding and appreciation of self and surroundings
beyond classroom lectures. By incorporating these immersive elements into our session, the students will have the opportunity to
engage with the subject in a more meaningful and memorable way.

The midterm requirement is a group activity called Thinkers’ Travlog (short for travel vlog, a modified travelog). It is a compilation
of the students’ video recordings promoting the locations in which they shall find items or areas (disallowing touching and flash
photography) that they closely identify with themselves and substantially relate to the lessons discussed.

The educational tour features three locations in the metro that are heavily and thoughtfully considered to be of great help for this
objective: Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Quezon City, The Manila Clock Tower Museum, and The National Museum of
Anthropology.

Traveling by the school shuttle service, the students will be accompanied by three teachers, myself included, throughout the tour
which is scheduled for February 21, 2024 (Wednesday). The itinerary can be found on the back page of this letter.

The first stop Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Quezon City offers us an exclusive contracted rate of ₱270.00/head for a minimum of 20
participants, instead of the published rate of ₱300.00/head, for a day tour package inclusive of welcome beverage, chef’s
complimentary snack, and guided tour. In this regard, each student must shoulder a participation fee following the contracted rate of
₱270.00 before the scheduled date of the visit. On the other hand, the students are encouraged to bring a packed lunch or monetary
allowance for the lunch break.

You can rest assured that as the event lead and point person, I will:
1. actively coordinate with the management of the featured locations;
2. ensure and prioritize the students’ safety and security throughout the educational trip;
3. consistently remind the students of the values of respect and decorum especially while inside the location’s premises; and
4. commit to promoting a “learning while having fun” educational philosophy.

We are looking forward to your support in this academic endeavor and to your child’s active participation. We appreciate our shared
vision of excellence and holistic development for our students.

Sincerely yours,

MR. RAINER JOHN T. ROVILLOS
