I. Description

 Work Immersion is one of the graduation course requirements. A Senior High

School student must complete Work Immersion in an industry that is directly
related to the student's postsecondary goal. Work Immersion exposes students
to and familiarizes them with work-related environments related to their field of
specialization, allowing them to improve their competence. Immersion programs
place people in an unfamiliar environment for a set period of time in order to
provide meaningful learning opportunities. Individuals must be receptive to the
economic, cultural, and/or political conditions in which they have been put for
maximum impact.

 The humanities and social sciences are concerned with the study of human
activities and relationships in cultural, social, environmental, political, and
economic contexts.
The humanities and social sciences have a contemporary and historical focus,
from a global to a personal perspective, and they reflect on future challenges.
Students will gain the ability to question, solve problems, think critically, make
decisions, communicate effectively, and adapt to change through the study of
Humanities and Social Sciences. Responding to and thinking about the issues
necessitates an understanding of the vital historical, political, geographical,
social, and economic factors at play, as well as how these various elements
interact.

Local Guiding Services is one of the major subjects of Humanities and Social
Sciences. That focuses on tourism information and guiding services that necessary in
the tourism industry.
This course is designed for a high school student to develop knowledge, skills and
attitude to perform the tasks on Tour Guiding Services.
It covers core competencies namely; research information relevant to tour itinerary,
managing tour arrangements for visitors and accompanying visitors in accordance with
the tour itinerary.
It also includes provision for on-the-job training in Tour Guiding Services. The
preliminaries of this specialization course include the following: Explain core concepts in
tour guiding services, Discuss the relevance of the course, Explore on opportunities for
a Tour Guide as a career.
The Philippine Department of Tourism (1995) defines tour guide as “an individual who
guides tourists, both foreign and domestic, for fee, commission, or any other form of
lawful remuneration.” The Philippine Department of Tourism recognizes tour guides who
undergo proper training.
Tour guiding therefore refers to the provision of professional service to interpret the
cultural and natural heritage of an area, in this sense, interpretation does not only refer
to translation of information from one language to another, but also the description of
cultural and natural attractions that help people gain better understanding and
appreciation such.

and easy to understand way.

 A good tour guide needs to have a
strong grasp of time. They shouldn’t make
customers wait for them, and they should end the
tour on time.

 IMPROVISATIONAL SKILLS

fly and play off the energy of the
group is important. Attendees will

comments along the way.

 PASSION FOR THEIR CITY

 True passion and interest can take a
tour from typical to outstanding.
Anyone can point and recite facts, but
 those who really love what they do can pass that passion onto tourists and locals
to make them feel it too.

Insights

Humanities and Social Sciences really taught me a lot from grade 11 to grade 12 and
from core subjects to major subjects I gain a lot of knowledge that i could really use in
the future and one of them is Local Guiding Services this is our major subject for 1 st
semester this caught my attention since I will take BS in Tourism for incoming college.

Work immersion is part of the new education syllabus, the K to 12 Curriculum, so I am

mindful of what it is like and what it is used for. As a graduating student preparing for
tertiary education and, soon, the workforce, it is a blessing to have advanced skills and
insights to be aware of what I can consider and imagine in a job setting.

Although learning system nowadays is really hard to work with, despite of the deadly
virus that didn’t stop us from learning instead we used that as a motivation and
inspiration to work hard and move forward with our lives.

All fields of Humanities and Social Science. With a relentless pursuit of excellence, it
aims at providing immaculate and superior research material. in all possible domains of
Humanities and Social Science to a broad audience of academic researchers and
industry practitioners in all major faculties research and development, management,
strategic planning, purchasing, design & styling, marketing, human resources etc.
Overall Reflection

This portfolio is referring to Humanities and Social Sciences that will trigger the
knowledge of a students. Humanities and Social Sciences is a discipline that involves a
study of a human or relationships with society. Humanities are usually seen as more
critical and intellectual, engaging with the existential issue of what it is that makes us
human. The social sciences, on the other hand, take a more empirical approach to the
study of humans in society, using methods close to that of the natural sciences.

The topic of education is of such fundamental significance, of such essential interest to

all of us, and encompasses such a vast area in all of its varied facets, that we believe it
is appropriate to devote this analysis to it and to train ourselves in reflective reflection on
such a subject, as well as to show, in particular, the lines of growth and goals in which
we shall focus our creative efforts.

In the midst of increasingly unfolding world affairs, and the whirl and pressure of outer
life, we must note that all external, material events have inner causes that derive from
the imagination, feeling, and will.
Keep this squarely in mind and live accordingly; extend its acceptance; and use it with
zeal in embracing the modern ways that would replace the old ones.

Work immersion is an important part of the Senior High School Program. It can be
carried out in a variety of ways, depending on the learners' goals and desires. It assists
in the growth of learners' life and job skills and prepares them to make choices
regarding postsecondary education or work.
