Objectives:

At the end of the quarter, students are able to:

b. identify the formation of mask,
c. appreciate the importance of creating mask in the maskara festival in
Bacolod,
d. construct a mask out of cardboard, glue, found materials, bilao, paper plate,
string, seeds and other found materials for a celebration like the Maskara
Festival of Bacolod.

Activity:

The teacher tasked you with creating your own mask inspired by the mascara
festival in Bacolod. This activity is a project that you can do at home with the
guidance of your parents. However, you need to take a video to make sure you are
the one who created the mask.

Scenario (SCRAP)

The teacher asked you to watch TV about the upcoming Maskara Festival in
Bacolod. After watching TV, you do research about the formation of the maskara in
the Bacolod festival with the guidance of your parents. After looking at some pictures
of mascara at the Bacolod festival, you observe that you can do it with recyclable
and found materials in a 3D way. The teacher tasked you with creating your own
mask using recyclable materials that can be easily found at home or in your
surroundings. You’re the designer of your own mask, so you can add some design to
make it beautiful. You need to make a mask to appreciate the importance of wearing
a mask during the festival in Bacolod. The mask represents bringing back smiles.
You can bring smiles by wearing a mask in the classroom or at home during difficult
times. So, you’re going to create your own mask using found materials such as
cardboard, bilao, paper plates, string, seeds, and other found materials or recyclable
