In my opinion, in year 12 I truly thrived because I had a great time and performed really
well academically. It meant a lot to me to be able to perform well in school and feel at
ease because year 11, when I took my first board exams, I had a really difficult time
mentally and was very distressed. Therefore, year 12, when I was able to take part in all

of the extracurricular activities offered by my school and create the best memories
while performing well academically, was truly amazing.
. Firstly after completing year 11, I moved to a different school to pursue my A-level
studies, which was a big change in my life. Although I've never been comfortable with
change, this one was essential and quite helpful. It forced me to venture outside of my
comfort zone, which gave me the chance to challenge myself and discover new things.
Secondly, I made the decision to change my viewpoint in order to find a balance between a

well-rounded life and academic rigor. I realized that while studying was important, it was as
important to enjoy other things in order to be happy and avoid burnout. I consequently made
it a habit to mingle with friends and got actively involved in sports like badminton, making
sure I had time to take pauses and clear my head.
Lastly, I started using a more productive study technique. I began by thoroughly researching
the topic, taking careful notes, and then investing a lot of time in practicing past exam
papers. My performance on the exams increased along with my comprehension of the
material thanks to this new method. Most importantly, I avoided procrastination and putting
off tasks and made sure I finished them all on time.
