What sparked the interest in me?

A marriage between the greenery of
Scandinavia and the modernism of Singapore
To me, Scandinavia is a region that echoes deeply ingrained values in their cultures, Sweden hosts
multiple environmental activists such as Greta Thunberg and Helena Norberg-Hodge,

Denmark, as a matter of fact is attributed to having the highest amount of municipal waste per
capita produced in Europe! How does it solve this problem? I wanted to dive in. (ANSWER TO
QUESTION IN SPEAKER NOTES)

Singapore-the Solarpunk city
Singapore has been through the thick and thin of revolutions and revolts, but it has emerged
victorious as among the 20% most carbon efficient countries in the world. It has envisioned
to implement projects such as the Sun City and Deep Tunnel Sewage System until 2050. It
hosts remarkable pieces of architectural innovations and biophilic designs that ensure the
management of space while being one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The
Singapore Sustainability Academy is the first major people, public and private ground-up
initiative in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Challenges faced and how I resolved them
I faced a time constraint due to assessments and other assignments that needed my
attention, for which I needed to accomodate this task into my schedule, I devised a detailed
plan on what components of the project I needed to complete every day.

I faced an issue with sourcing a few materials such as the motors, for which I consulted a few
of my relatives who specialize in the field of electronic engineering and they suggested
locations I can visit to find those items. I also faced a minor issue with the materials I use to
construct the buildings for which I used recycled cardboard and terracotta clay, which may
be subject to debate as clay is not very sturdy if we visualise it to be a construction material
for large-scale projects.

Overall, I found this project to be very rewarding and as I progressed through cutting
cardboards to cutting wires, I found it to be increasingly interesting and thought provoking.
