Lesson Plan in Science-10

3rd Quarter
04/11/23

Competencies:

 Explain the relationship between population growth and carrying capacity(S10LTIIIi-42)

I.OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to do the following;

a. Define population growth and carrying capacity;

b. Explain the relationship of population growth and carrying capacity; and
c. Appreciate the importance of number of populations in maintaining the carrying capacity of a certain
ecosystem.

II.SUBJECT MATTER:
Topic:Ecosystem: Population Growth and Carrying Capacity
References:Self Learning Module(Population Growth and carrying capacity)
Materials:laptop,TV,Cartolina,cardboard and chalk.

III:LEARNING TASK:

1. Classroom Management.
a. Prayer and Greetings
b. Checking of cleanliness and orderliness and
c. Checking of attendance.
A.Elicit.

Review:

 The teacher will recall the topic that she discussed last meeting and ask some questions.

 In our previews lesson we learned about the biodiversity and stability of an ecosystem
 Again what is biodiversity?

B.Engage.

Motivations.
 The teacher will show pictures to the class and let the students analyze it using a quide questions.

Aquarium A Aquarium B.

Guide questions:

 What you have notice in the pictures?

 What is the difference between the two aquariums?
 If we are going to analyze the two pictures,which equarium can support the needs of organisms
who live on it? And why?

C.Explore.

Group Activity:(The teacher will divide the class into 6 groups)

 Within 3 minutes the students will analyze the situations using the guide questions provided;
 Every group choose one representative to discuss their answers infront.
D.Explain.

 The chosen student discuss their answers infront of the class

 The teacher will discuss the topic.

Guide questions:
 In your own idea what is population growth and carrying capacity?
 What are the factors that can effect the carrying capacity of an ecosytem?
 Why carrying capacity is important in maintaining the ecosystem?
 How the population growth affect the carrying capacity of an ecosystem?

E. Elaborate. (Group activity)

 The teacher will give situations to the class and let the students analyze what limiting factors are being
described.

F. Evaluation.

Directions:Incircle only the letter of the correct answer.
