Executive Summary

ARMO Police Training Academy is located in Armo District in the northeaster Bari Province of
Puntland, approximately 100kms south of Bosasso. The site was officially opened in December
2005. Since 2005, the Academy has provided training to 6,229 police officers and women from the
Somali Police Force and Puntland State Police. Although relatively well maintained, the site has not
had any significant programme of refurbishment or improvement since it was opened seventeen
years ago.

The scope of the Lot 1 will include:

1. Refurbishment of the Guest House Building Block.

2. Refurbishment of the HOSTELs Building block.
3. Refurbishment of the CLASSES/CANTEEN Building block.
4. Refurbishment of the ADMINSTRATION Block.
5. Refurbishment of the . DISPENSARY block.
6. Refurbishment of the . Meeting Hall block.

1. Guest House Building Block

Proposed SOW:
ROOF
• Disconnect the power and remove the light fixtures and wirings.

• Remove the existing deteriorated false ceiling.

• Remove existing rusted roof iron sheets.

• Install new roof sheets pre-painted gauge 26 IT5.

• Remove existing ceiling and Install new 9mm plywood false ceiling.

• Install new fascia board 250x25mm.

• Re-Install light fixtures and wiring and reconnect power supply.

WALLS
• Patch all walls and trim in preparation for paint (excluding the stone claddings)

• Fix/replace switches/switch-plate covers as necessary (ensure matching colours and styles).

• Fix/replace vent blocks as necessary (ensure matching colours and styles).

• Paint entire interior as per Specification and BoQ.

• Clean/scrape all windows and ensure proper operation. Replace non-functional windows.

• Replace the main entry door with new panelled steel doors.

TOILETS
• Remove existing sanitary ware and disconnect water line.

• Scrub and dispose of all existing wall tiles, plaster and paints.

• Remove existing screed and floor tiles.

• Patch wall and trim in preparation for paints.

• Install new wall tiles of height 2.1m from finishes floor level FFL.

• Apply new plaster, and paints above 2.1m from finished floor level FFL to the ceiling.

• Replace flooring with ceramic tile and level floor as necessary (may have sub-floor issues).

• Replace all sanitary ware (WCs, Sink, WHBs, Floor traps etc.) and re-connect the supply line.

• Replace electric appliances as necessary (light fixture, sockets, and switches).

FLOOR
• Patch the top surface cracks with cement/sand screed cracks.

• Level the top surface as necessary with Cementous material.

2. HOSTELs Building block

Proposed SOW:

ROOF
Disconnect the power and remove the light fixtures and wirings.

• Remove the existing deteriorated false ceiling.

• Remove existing rusted roof iron sheets.

• Install new roof sheets pre-painted gauge 26 IT5.

• Remove existing ceiling and Install new 9mm plywood false ceiling..

• Scrub and dispose of all existing wall tiles, plaster and paints.

• Remove existing screed and floor tiles.

• Patch wall and trim in preparation for paints.

• Install new wall tiles of height 2.1m from finishes floor level FFL.

• Apply new plaster, and paints above 2.1m from finished floor level FFL to the ceiling.

• Replace flooring with ceramic tile and level floor as necessary (Toilets area only).

• Apply epoxy flooring paint and level as necessary (Laundry area only).

• Remove existing screed and floor tiles.

• Patch wall and trim in preparation for paints.

• Replace all sanitary ware (WCs, Sink, WHBs, Floor traps etc.) and re-connect the supply line.

• Replace all toilet doors with new timber doors as per specifications and BoQ.

• Replace electric appliances as necessary (light fixture, sockets, and switches)
