ANHALED GAS
1: ISOFLURANE
A colorless, non-flammable liquid that is considered a
narcotic gas and has a special color for the package (purple),
free from additives and preservatives.
‫سائل عديم اللون غير قابل لالشتعال يعتبر من الغازات المخدرة و له لون خاص‬
.‫للعبوة )بنفسجي( خالي من المواد المضافة و الحافظة‬

Note / It is kept in a walnut-colored vial to prevent the

interaction between the content of the vial and the light.

EFFECT ON THE BODY SYSTEM
Effect on the cardiac system / It works to suppress a little in the
left ventricle (decrease the ventricular strength) Maintains cardiac

Note / the rapid increase in isoflurane causes a temporary

increase in the heart rate, so the drug should be gradually
increased.

Effect on the respiratory system/

1: It causes respiratory depression, but its effect on breathing

speed is less than other gases.

2: Although it has a strong smell, it is a good bronchodilator.

3: If given in low concentration, the body's response to

hypoxima and hypercapnia will decrease.

Effect on the uterus / It causes an increase in the blood flow to

quickly, so it is considered (Rabid on sit) and at the same time, due to the

Effect
Effects on the nervous system / Sevoflurane is an anesthetic, not
analgesia, which causes the patient to sleep and not relieve pain.

‫مسكن آلم اي يسبب نوم المريض وليس ازاله االلم‬ ‫وليس‬

It does not cause epileptic seizures, and when given in high quantities, it
causes an increase in brain pressure and reduces the resistance of cerebral
blood vessels.
‫ال يسبب نوبات صرع وعند اعطائه بكميات عاليه يسبب‬
‫زياده ضغط الدماغ ويقلل مقاومه االوعيه الدمويه‬

Note/ It can be used in brain operations, provided that the MAC is from

Its effects on the respiratory system / works to expand the bronchi and does

Sevoflurin is a muscle relaxant, especially when we want to do intubation

PROPOFOL: It is considered as one of the intravenous anesthesia drugs

in operations known as (DIPRIVAN) available in vial form
Or ampoule in the form of a milky liquid (emulsion liquid).

‫معروف بأسم)ديبريفان( يتوفر بشكل فيال او امبول على‬

It is considered hypnotic and we use it as (Induction) in general anesthesia

for adults and children over three years old, and according to studies
under three years old, we do not use propofol for them, but we use it as a
continuation of anesthesia.

‫العام للبالغين واالطفال فوق الثالث سنين وحسب‬

It is considered as a sedative in cases of malignant hyperthermia by giving

it an (in) form with nutrients and we use it in intensive care patients
(ICUS).

(ICUS )‫ونستعمله في مرضى العنايه المركزه‬

Mode of action: Acts on the GABA receptor (inhibits the action of the
neurotransmitter on GABA-1)

(1-GABA ‫ )يثبط عمل الناقل العصبي على‬GABA ‫ يعمل على مستقبالت‬:‫طريقة العمل‬

It works in less than 40 seconds and the duration of its action in the
body is 3-5 d, and the recovery after administration is 8 min, but when
mixed with opioid drugs, the recovery is 19 min

Adult dose/1.5-2.5mg/kg in case of induction

of the drug quickly

Nutrition: 1.5-4.5 mg every hour

(APNEA) and causes coughing and release of histamine so we avoid it for
asthma patients

‫لذلك نتجنبه لمرضى الربو‬

on the cardiovascular system/causes bradycardia and hypotension due

to its inhibition of the sympathetic system

‫يسبب بطئ القلب وانخفاض الضغط بسبب تثبيطه لجهاز السيمباثتك‬/‫على الجهاز الوعائي القلبي‬

on the digestive system / causes abdominal cramping, causes nausea

and vomiting in a small proportion and causes hiccups

‫يسبب تشنج بالبطن يسبب الغثيان والتقيؤ بنسبه قليله ويسبب‬/‫تأثيراته على الجهاز الهضمي‬

Local effects / causes burning during injection and to avoid this thing can
be mixed with xylocaine

ANALGESIC
KETAMEN
It is considered a pain reliever and at the same time it is
considered a sedative and is given intravenously
‫يعتبر مسكن ألم وبنفس الوقت يعتبر مهدأ ويعطى عن طريق الوريد‬

Note/ When the medicine is reduced the better it causes fewer

side effects

‫ كلما يخفف الدواء كلما كان افضل بسبب قلة التأثيرات الجانبية‬/‫مالحظه‬
It spreads within 20 seconds in the body and the duration of its
action is 10 to 15 minutes, and sometimes a maximum of 30
minutes, and then its work ends completely
‫ دقيقه واحيانا اقصى حد‬١٥ ‫ الى‬١٠ ‫ ثانية في الجسم ومدة عمله‬٢٠ ‫انتشاره خالل‬

Effect on the Cardiovascular system ً / It increases blood

pressure about 25% of the blood pressure before the operation
and increases heart rate by about 20%, as well as increases
cardiac output and myocardial oxygen consumption
‫ عن ضغط الدم قبل العملية ويزيد من سرعة القلب‬٪٢٥ ‫يزيد من ضغط الدم حوالي‬
‫ وكذلك يزيد من النتاج القلبي واستهالك عضلة القلب لالوكسجين‬٪٢٠ ‫حوالي‬

Important note / patients who suffer from a defect in the

coronary arteries or a lack of ischemia of the heart muscle, we
cannot give them ketamine because the heart muscle needs
oxygen and ketamine increases the muscle effort and the
increase is done by allowing the entry of calcium, causing the
increase.
‫ المرضى الذي يعانون من خلل في الشرايين التاجية او قلة تروية‬/ ‫مالحظة مهمة‬
‫العضلة القلبية ال نستطيع اعطائهم الكيتامين بسبب أن عضلة القلب تحتاج الى‬
 ‫اوكسجين والكيتامين يزيد من جهد العضلة والزيادة تتم عن طريق السماح بدخول‬
.‫الكالسيوم فيسبب الزيادة‬

Ketamine increases the sensitivity of the heart muscle to

adrenaline, so special attention should be paid to ENT
procedures
‫الكيتامين يزيد من تحسس عضلة القلب لالدرينالين فيجب االنتباه خصوصا في‬
‫عمليات ال‬ENT

Effect on the The sympathetic system/ causes an expansion of

blood vessels in the alpha-dependent tissues, while it causes a
contraction of the tissues dependent on the beta-receptor
neuron.
‫ يسبب توسع لألوعية الدموية باالنسجة المعتمده على‬/‫تأثيراته على النظام الودي‬
‫االلفا بينما يسبب تقلص لالنسجة المعتمده بتغذيتها العصبية على المستقبل بيتا‬

Effect on the The respiratory system/ does not cause Apnea, but
when mixing it like morphine and administering it quickly, it
causes temporary respiratory failure, so it must always be given
slowly and diluted

* It is distinguished in asthma patients because it expands the

airways

Other effect/ It increases saliva secretions, so this thing can be
eliminated by giving the patient before the operation a drug
from Anticholincgic such as atropine.
‫ يزيد من افرازات اللعاب فيمكن التخلص من هاذا الشيء عن طريق‬/‫تأثيرات اخرى‬
‫اعطاء المريض قبل العمليه دواء من انتيكلونسيك مثل االتروبين‬

Effects on the eye / increases intraocular pressure and causes

strong eye movement

‫ يزيد من ضغط العين ويسبب حركه قويه بالعين‬/‫تأثيراته على العين‬

Its effects on the muscles / increases muscle contraction in

general and sometimes causes abnormal movements such as
little reflexes, especially in children
‫ يزيد من تقلص العضالت بشكل عام ويسبب احيانا‬/ ‫تأثيراته على العضالت‬
‫حركات غير طبيعيه ك ردات الفعل بشكل قليل خصوصا في األطفال‬
Contraindications/

High brain pressure, which is the enemy of neurosurgery and

coronary artery ischemia and psychological conditions and eye
operations
‫ارتفاع ضغط الدماغ حيث يعتبر عدو العمليات الجراحيه العصبيه و نقص ترويه‬
‫الشريان التاجي والحاالت النفسيه وعمليات العيون‬

A very important note / when you mix ketamine with another

drug that depends on the GABA receptor such as propofol and
the presence of control ventilation without using nitrous gas, it
does not cause high brain pressure
‫ عند مزج الكيتامين مع دواء اخر يعتمد على مستقبل غابا مثل‬/‫مالحظه مهمه جدا‬
‫البروبوفول ووجود الكونترول فنتليشن مع عدم استعمال غاز النايترس فال يسبب‬
‫ارتفاع ضغط الدماغ‬

AZMERON
It is available in the form of a transparent ampule, and the
medicine is also transparent. It contains 5 ml and each 1cc=10mg
and is kept frozen.

‫ مل وكل‬5 ‫يتوفر بشكل امبوله شفافه اللون والدواء ايضا شفاف وتحتوي على‬
cc=10mg 1‫ويحفظ مجمد‬

Its action is fast, as it can be used in emergency. It starts

working after 4-5 minutes in the case of normal doses onset and
remains for a period of 45-56 minutes.
 ‫عمله سريع حيث يمكن االستفاده منه بالطوارئ يبدء عمله بعد ‪ 5-4‬د في حاله‬
‫الجرعات االعتياديه ويبقى‬
‫لمده ‪ 56-45‬د ‪onset‬‬

‫‪Dosage/0.6-1.2mg | kg in intubation‬‬

‫‪But in the case(RABID SQUANCE INDUCTION) we give 1.2 mg to‬‬

‫‪work quickly‬‬

‫)‪Or we can say that the dose of Asmeron (it is half the weight‬‬

‫الوزن(‬

‫تأثيراته على الجهاز التنفسي‪ /‬يسبب شلل بالحجاب الحاجز‬
‫وعضالت الصدر ليمنع لتنفس التلقائي ‪.‬‬
