Organization of the lesson:
Warm up
 Ask questions from chapter 3.
What was Pondicherry lodge? Who lived there?
Why was mayor Sholto afraid of men with wooden legs?
What was Sholto claiming about his health when Dr. Watson came in his house?

Presentation

 Tell students to listen carefully to the 4th chapter.


 While listening they need to underline parts of the story and/or ask questions about the chapter.
Practice
 Allow students time to work with the underlined info to write questions.
 Ask them to write 5 questions about it and then discuss with their partner.
Production
 Let them read their questions aloud and hear out their answers
 Ask them to write their questions on padlet and share answers too.
Closure
 Wrap up chapter 4 in 10 sentences using the new words such as tar, city, crouch down, etc
.
