“Don’t play videogames.” “There is nothing productive there”, my mom used

to say. Nevertheless, I felt like its correct use was far more beneficial than
many people think. Nowadays, many teenagers have got video consoles at home
and they often like playing active video games. To my mind, playing videogames
are good for you for a number of reasons.

First of all, you can learn new words in other language. Before playing, you
can change the language of the game in settings. This way, the game will be run in
the language you wish to learn, say English. Some people claim you can’t learn fully
a language, of course, you can’t learn the whole language, but the input you get by
being exposed to it will substantially make the difference. For instance, when I

Opinion was a teenager, I used to play Resident Evil and I played it in English. Did I learn
to speak a language fluently? No. Did I improve my vocabulary? Yes. I
unconsciously picked up a bunch of English words because of the need of winning
the game. To me, there is no better learning that the one you unconsciously pick
up. At least, this is better than having to memorize long lists of non-related

with one another. On account of this, most of them suffer from depression. It
might be tough not to have someone whom you can talk or someone who can listen

online world, you can get to know people from different nationalities and
exchange culture or just simply talk about how things went in school. Some people
argue that it is dangerous talking to people on the internet; nevertheless, I think
that danger is not only on the internet, it is everywhere. Even your schoolfriends
can betray you. They, indeed, could harm you more than online friends would.

To wrap up, I can say that playing videogames offer more advantages than
disadvantages. It is just a matter of how you want to look at things. Picking up
new English words and making friends are two of the benefits of playing video
games, for instance. Next time someone tells you not to play videogames, tell
them how productive it can be.
 The School Uniform Question

Individualism is a fundamental part of society in many countries. Most people

believe in the right to express their own opinion without fear of punishment. This
value, however, is coming under fire in an unlikely place- the public-school classroom.
The issue is school uniforms. Should public school students be allowed to make
individual decisions about clothing, or should all students be required to wear a
uniform? In my opinion, wearing school uniforms are the best choice for three
reasons.

First, wearing school uniforms would help make students’ lives simpler. They
would no longer have to decide what to wear every morning, sometimes trying on
outfit after outfit in an effort to choose. I am convinced that uniforms would not
only save time but would also eliminate the stress often associated with this chore.
Opponents of mandatory uniforms say that students who wear uniforms cannot

stated previously, school is a place to learn, not to flaunt wealth and fashion.
Students can express their individuality in the way that they dress outside of the
classroom.

learning. In addition, uniforms create a feeling of unity among students. For
example, when students do something as a group, such as attend meetings in the
auditorium or eat lunch in the cafeteria, the fact that they all wear the same
uniform gives them a sense of community.

Finally, school uniforms would help make all the students feel equal.
Students’ standards of living differ greatly from family to family, and some people
are well-off while others are not. People sometimes forget that school is a place to
get an education, not to promote a “fashion show”. Implementing mandatory school
uniforms would make all students look the same regardless of their financial status.
I am confident that school uniforms would promote pride and help to raise the self-
esteem of students who cannot afford to wear expensive clothing.

In conclusion, there are many well-documented benefits of implementing

mandatory school uniforms or students. Studies show that students learn better
and act more responsibly when they wear uniforms. I firmly believe that public
schools should require uniforms in order to benefit both the students and society
as a whole.
