MUSIC SHOWS
Music shows are television programs that are
broadcast weekly in South Korea, where artists
come to promote their new releases.

While there are many, there are 5 from South

Korea’s largest broadcasting companies:
SHOW CHAMPION
M COUNTDOWN
MUSIC BANK
SHOW! MUSIC CORE
INKIGAYO

Each music show has its own set of criteria to

determine weekly winners, who receive trophies.
Music show trophies are considered prestigious in
the Korean music industry, and are therefore highly
valued by Korean artists and their fans.

When TXT are releasing a new album, or having a

comeback, it is our job as MOAs to ensure wins for
TXT on these music shows.
MUSIC SHOW CRITERIA
While each show has its own set of criteria, they all encompass the following areas:

BROADCAST VOTING

Each music show assigns a variety of weights to each area for their criteria.
 DIGITALS MUSIC SHOW CRITERIA
Digitals points come from streaming and downloads
on mainly Korean music platforms, which include:
MELON
GENIE
FLO
BUGS
VIBE
This area takes up the largest percentage of all
music show criteria.

These platforms are only available to Korean

residents, and are largely not free to use. As IMOAs,
we can help KMOAs by participating in the
comeback fundraiser opened by the KMOA fanbase
(@TXT_STREAM on Twitter), who will use these
funds to distribute to KMOAs for subscriptions and
downloads.

A notable exception among Korean music shows is

M COUNTDOWN, which includes streams from
global platforms such as:
SPOTIFY
APPLE MUSIC
YOUTUBE MUSIC
PHYSICALS MUSIC SHOW CRITERIA
Physicals points come from physical album sales,
which are counted by HANTEO and CIRCLE charts.
CIRCLE counts orders when they are placed, while
HANTEO counts orders when they are shipped.

Our PHYSICALS are always the strongest in the first

day and week of release as it counts album sales
from pre-orders.

Only albums ordered from WEVERSE SHOP and

certified HANTEO and CIRCLE retailers will count
towards PHYSICALS points. Certified retailers
include:
KTOWN4U
SOUNDWAVE
YES24
ALADDIN
M2U
MUSICPLANT
YIZHIYU
DEARMYMUSE
and more. Albums from different retailers will have
different prices, inclusions, and pre-order benefits.
 SNS MUSIC SHOW CRITERIA
SNS (Social Networking Sites) points are primarily
counted from the viewcount of the promoted song’s
official MUSIC VIDEO on YOUTUBE.

Filtering from YOUTUBE will be quite heavy in the

first 24 hours of the official MV’s release, so it’s
imperative to follow streaming guidelines from MOA
stream bases.

Some music shows will have secondary SNS

platforms as part of their criteria.

For M COUNTDOWN, they are counting

engagement on YOUTUBE SHORTS. Namely, how
many Shorts are created using the promoted song’s
official YOUTUBE audio.

For MUSIC BANK, they are counting engagement

on YOUTUBE and TIKTOK*, measured by CIRCLE
SOCIAL CHART 2.0. It is important to interact with
all releases on these platforms during the entire
promotion period.
*Due to UNIVERSAL’s ongoing dispute with TIKTOK, TXT’s TikToks
using official audio will be affected for the foreseeable future.
BROADCAST MUSIC SHOW CRITERIA
Broadcast points are measured by TXT’s
participation in programs of the music show’s
broadcasting company, which are as follows:

MNET M COUNTDOWN
KBS MUSIC BANK
MBC SHOW! MUSIC CORE
SBS INKIGAYO

This means attending the music shows, and

appearing in programs broadcast by the
corresponding company. These programs can
include variety shows, talk shows, radio shows, etc.

Points can also be earned if the promoted song is

used in the broadcasting company’s programming.

NOTE: Due to BIGHIT’s conflict with MBC, TXT have never

appeared on MUSIC CORE since debut. The conflict has
since been resolved at the end of 2023 and we anticipate
TXT’s first ever appearance on MUSIC CORE in the
upcoming comeback.
 VOTING MUSIC SHOW CRITERIA
PRE-VOTING LIVE VOTING

Voting points come from fan participation on

voting platforms. There are two kinds of music
show voting:
PRE-VOTING: voting over a period of
three to four days; takes place prior to the
music show’s live broadcast
LIVE VOTING: voting during the music
show’s live broadcast

Voting is one area of the music show criteria

that comes from 100% fan participation. It is
imperative that all MOAs participate in voting
as it could be the biggest difference between
a win or a loss.
