RESEARCHER: Sir ma interview ko simo sir, nag ask permission naman ko simo sir last
week regarding sa akon stud, pwede nata air ka sugod? Dako dakoa lang tingog mo sir kay
basi di bation sa recording sir. Sir, can you briefly describe your career trajectory since
graduating form NONESCOST?

PARTICIPANT: Since graduating from NONESCOST, I think I transition to a better


professional as I acquired the advanced knowledge and skills. I was molted from Head
Teacher II, now I am Head Teacher III.

RESEARCHER: So what were your initial career goals after completing your PhD?

PARTICIPANT: Basically, my initial career goal is to step the higher managerial duties in the
field. As I have told you, subong Head Teacher III nako. To the use of this field that I
acquired from the academy, I believe it will take me to the place that I want to be.

RESEARCHER: Sir, how did your career aspirations and realities align with each other?

PARTICIPANT: Honestly, as of today, the reality that I want is far from the aspiration that I
have in mind but hopefully I will get there soon.

RESEARCHER: Sir, what significant challenges or obstacles have you encountered in your
career path?

PARTCIPANT: So looking back, there are several challenges that I have encountered but the
most significant I think is the time and money that I invested. So, managing my time and
money for the career path is actually the most challenging for me.

RESEARCHER: Okay, sir, what factor have contributed to your career progressions and
achievements?

PARTICIPANT: I think, most specially ang support sang akon family and of course my
aspiration to grow professionally contributed most on my career progression.

RESEARCHER: Okay, sir, what strategies or approaches have you adopted to navigate
career transition and challenges?

PARTICIPANT: So, usually, I use self reflection. Self reflection strategies, nga gina reflect ko
kung ano ang mga skill nga natun an ko, paano ko ni gi-acquire, kag ano nga interest kung
ano pagid gusto nga e-learn.

RESEARCHER: Sir, in your opinion, what are the key factors that influences the career
mobility of PhD graduates in the Philippines?

PARTICIPANT: So, based on the current situation, I think the key factor that we professional
nga kinanlan naton na mga continue for professional aspiration is we need to realize the
dream that we wanted to have.

RESEARCHER: Okay, sir, how has the quality of education and training at NONESCOS
impacted your career trajectory?

PARTICIPANT: So, for me, hands down sa quality sang education sang NONESCOS. So, I
will be lying if ma siling ko nga wala sila bulig sakon to reach where I am now.

RESEARCHER: So, can you elaborate on the role of research experience and professional
network in shaping your career advancement?
PARTICIPANT: So, ang research, this is the most common conflict sa aton. Kumbaga gina
aim natun as negative, pero I think research experiences helps us to understand what are the
underlying factors that influences the current situation, so it will make us better.

RESEARCHER: So, how do you perceive the importance of communication interpersonal


and adaptability skills in career progression?

PARTICIPANT: So, as a current school head, of course I was also a teacher. We constantly
need to communicate with our clients. Thus, communication interpersonal and adaptability
skills are valuable assets for us to give and to receive the needs and wants of our clientele.

RESEARCHER: Okay, sir, how has the availability of opportunities in your field of expertise
influenced your career choices and mobility?

PARTICIPANT: So, the field of education is a career where it push us individuals to progress
from one point to another. Thus, as professional, it really influences me to be better in the
field that I choose.

RESEARCHER : Okay, sir, what impact have economic conditions in the Philippines played
on your career aspirations and opportunities?

PARTICIPANT: I think the competition in that field is quite evident, so it is inevitable that we
need to aspire for more. Thus, we need to have career aspirations in order for us not to lose a
part of the spectrum.

RESEARCHER: So, sir, what specific challenges have you encountered in pursuing a career
in the academic sector?

PARTICIPANT: As I have told earlier, the most challenging factor for me is the money and
the time which I deemed to be the most I think the most atspecific challenge that we
encountered as professionals.

RESEARCHER: So have you address this challenges? And what strategies have you proven
effective in overcoming them?

PARTICIPANT: Yes, I tried so many methods, pero I think the most strategy that I used is
financial planning obviously and time scheduling. It really played huge part in addressing my
challenges especially sa money and time.

RESEARCHER: Okay, sir, what unique opportunities does the academic sector present for
PhD graduates?

PARTICIPANT: So I can’t really specify kung ano gid ang mga unique opportunities. But
being a PhD graduate gives me an oppurtunity to share my knowledge and skills nga wala ko
man na feel nga prejudice from my colleagues .

RESEARCHER: So how do you perceive the balance between research, teaching, and
administrative responsibility in academia?

PARTICIPANT: I think it's quite understandable and logical naman sa balance sang
administrative responsibilities ng academy.

RESEARCHER: So, sir, what factors contributed to career advancement and success within
academic sector?

PARTICIPANT: I guess the main factor that contributed to my career advancement is the
substantial changes costal changes in the curriculum which improves to overall academic
sector.
RESEARCHER: So, sir, what recommendations can you offer to improve the career mobility
of PhD graduates in the Philippines?

PARTICIPANT: I think as I have told you earlier, the maniifactors is actually one of those
recommendation that I want to, para ipa hambal sa academy/school/institution.

RESEARCHER: So, what specific interventions or policies could be implemented to enhance


career opportunities for PhD graduates?

PARTICIPANT: So, I think, I want to give emphasis on the follow up engagement sang mga
PhD naton especially us PhD graduates to further boost our self esteem para kung baga may
ara kami dyapon or part kami dyapon sang academy.

RESEARCHER: Okay, sir, so what rule can institution like NONESCOS play in supporting
and facilitating career mobility for their PhD Alumni?

PARTICIPANT: I think, they should be the one to reach out to the PhD Alumni and ask them
what they can do to help the graduates in pursuing their career aspiration para kung baga
may connection gyapon.

RESEARCHERS: Sir, so how can collaboration between academia, industry, and


government contribute to enhancing career prospects for PhD graduates?

PARTICIPANT: I think that would give a huge assurance for the graduates, especially for
PhD graduates, as it secures the academia and the industry to have a collaborative act or to
help as graduates in enhancing our career prospects.

RESEARCHER: Okay sir so, Lastly sir, what advice would you give to aspiring PhD
graduates who are seeking to establish successful career in their chosen field?

PARTICIPANT: Okay, so the only advice that I can give is to be patient and never give up.
Whatever the situation, no matter how hard it is, always remember why you are aspiring in the
first place. Thank you.
