Yellow= Following rules, routine and expectations of class somewhat; minor safety infractions
Red= Experiencing challenges and not being safe.
4) Class rules are divided into three levels of expectations guided by lights which change colors.
a. Red Light- Strict- Raise hand, stay seated, focused ready to learn, quiet, safe actions
b. Yellow light- Medium- Talk quiet, out of seat but stay in area, ready to learn, safe
actions, be ready for transitions.
c. Green Light- Light- Talk, get out of area, safe actions, be ready for transition
5) Rewards- For each green sticker earned gain 2 minutes of free iPad time at end of day period,
for each yellow sticker, gain 1 minute of free iPad time, for each red sticker, gain 0 min of free
iPad time. iPad time is earned at the end of the day during teacher conference period.

Visual cards of behaviors and expectations are near each light to help reinforce understanding of
expectations. These are used to help nonverbal learners. The students I work with are diagnosed with
autism and intellectual disability and these aids assist in them learning, understanding and manipulating
their environment.

iPad is a heavy reinforcer that is very prized in the classroom. Students earn minutes to spend on the
iPad with their personal headphones. If iPads are not earned, students are able to use their sensory
boxes or coloring sheets or go to sensory or Relax room in the classroom. The only consequences are
not getting the most preferred rewards and snacks.
