Design Methodology
DESIGN BASIS & ASSUMPTIONS

Cables shall be sized based on the following considerations:

A Short circuit withstand capability
B The voltage drop in the cable
C Derated current of cable after installation (Derated Current capacity of cable (A)
Design Parameters
Following parameters are used as design inputs
Sr.No Description Parameter Reference
1 Maximum system 25kA (rms) for One (0.3) sec
2 Maximum conductor temperature for 90ºC
3 Ambient Air temperature 50ºC
4 Temperature coefficient of Al. per deg C 0.004308
Table-A
De-rating factors for various conditions of installations including the following shall be considered while selecting the cable sizes:

K1- (b)Variation in Air temperature 50 Deg. Cent. 0.89

K2- Grouping derating factor of Cables touching laid horizontal formation 0.82
K3- Derating Factor for variation in depth of laying @1200mm for 300mm2 N/A

Earthed cable Seletion
