Speak Between the Lines

IRR 1.0 BACKGROUND

IRR 1.1 Speak between the lines is a contest to showcase different self-
expression through spoken word poetry, as well as to bring awareness
to different topics, issues and opinions. Wordplay, rhythm,
spontaneity, intonation, and voice tone are all important aspects of
this oral art form.

Theme: "Understanding Patriotism: How love and loyalty to one's


country show compassion as a human being."

IRR 2.0 OBJECTIVES


IRR 2.1 To showcase the power of poetry written to be performed.

IRR 2.2
To build social and emotional skill sets including self-awareness,
communication, self-confidence, screen presence, vocal inflection, and
good body language, as well as increased cognitive skills.

IRR 2.4 To promote awareness among SSC officers and fellow students.

IRR 3.0 GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

IRR 3.1 The contest is open to all bona fide college students of Holy Trinity
University A.Y. 2021-2022 (at least one participant per department).

IRR 4.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS & MECHANICS


IRR 4.1 The piece, as well as the background music, must be submitted to the SSC
Treasurer, Ms. Trisha Nacasi thru her e-mail
trishnacasi@gmail.com, on or before April 24, 2022 with the
corresponding format:

IRR 4.2 Once the entries are already posted on the SSC page, the participants
from every department can already share the main post of their entry
from the page to their respective personal accounts and mention
their Fb friends to react on their individual entries. The number of
heart reacts and shares will be validated only up until April 27, 2022
at 10:30 pm.
IRR 4.3 The piece used can either be an original composition or an existing piece.
It should be written in English. The piece must be relevant to the theme
and must not contain any malicious or offensive narrative. The spoken
poetry must be delivered from memory.

IRR 4.4 It is allowed to use sounds, instruments, or musical ambience to enhance


the performance. If the contestant does not have a musical background,
there will be no deduction.

IRR 4.5 The running time of the performance must be a minimum of 3


minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.

IRR 4.6 The performance will be performed and recorded live on April 25, 2022 at
Infinite Studio. Participants are required to wear a formal attire, that
means no T-shirts, shorts, slippers, hoodies, or any clothing that is not
formal.

IRR 4.7 Strictly no official entry will be publicized and posted to the personal
social media accounts of the participant/s beforehand, because the
official entries will only be posted by the committee to the official SSC
page. Once violated, the entry will be void and will result to
disqualification.

IRR 6.0 AWARDING

IRR 6.1 The top three (3) participants with the overall highest scores shall
receive their corresponding prices and e-certificates. All participants will
also receive a certificate of participation.
