Activity: Spoken Word Poetry Contest

Mechanics:
1. Spoken word poetry is a form of poetry that is intended to be performed in front of an audience
rather than simply being written down and read by others. It's a piece of poetry designed to be
shared. Wordplay, rhythm, spontaneity, intonation, and voice tone are all important aspects of this
oral art form.
2. The contest is open to all the college departments in Holy Trinity University.
3. The piece can either be an original composition or an existing piece. It can be written in Filipino
and English, but not both.
4. The piece must be relevant to the theme and must not contain any malicious or offensive
narrative.
5. The spoke poetry must be delivered from memory.
6. Each participant must submit a copy of the piece on or before (DATE).
7. It is allowed to use sounds, instruments, or musical ambience to enhance the performance. If the
contestant does not have a musical background, there will be no deduction.
8. The winners will get a monetary prize as well as a certificate of participation. All participants will
receive a certificate of participation.
