Lesson Plan in Science 7

Quarter 3
Subject: Science- 7 Date: October 3, 2023
Section: Teacher: Bobster D. Mariano III
Time: Position: Pre-service Teacher

I.OBJECTIVES
A. Content The learners demonstrate an understanding of motion in one dimension.
Standards
B. Performance The learners should be able to create a concept map displaying the
Standards definition and its formula and applying the concepts of acceleration
through figures and real-life examples.
C. Learning At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
Competencies 1. Identify the parts of male reproductive system.
(LC Code)
2. discuss the function of the male reproductive system and its
part.
Objectives 3. Draw the male reproductive system and label its parts.
II.CONTENT/ Topic ACCELERATION

Questions:
facilitate teaching and
-What was our previous lesson class? learning.
B. Establishing a 2.1.2 Establish safe and
purpose for the lesson The teacher will have a game “4 pics , 1 word” secure learning
(ENGAGE) environments to enhance
learning through the
consistent implementation
of policies, guidelines and
procedures.

. Discussing new
concepts and Present the lesson objectives
practicing #1 1.1.2 Apply knowledge of
(EXPLORE) Activity 1: Ballon/Car Acceleration Race content within and across
Teaching Strategy: Experiential Learning curriculum teaching areas.
Materials: Stopwatch, coins (ballon), stones (toy car)
Significance: To differentiate between speed and acceleration through a hands-on
activity.

1.4.2 Use a range of

teaching strategies that
enhance learner
achievement in literacy and
numeracy skills.
Instructions:
- Students will be divided into two groups.
- They will indicate a start and finish line.
- Using the provided materials (balloon, toy car, small stones, and coins), students will
apply the notion of acceleration.
- The first group will utilize balloons, while the second will use a toy car for the task.
- Each group compares the speed and acceleration of a balloon with and without coins,
as well as a toy car with or without stones.
- Measure and record the time spent on each run.

Assessment Questions:

 What happens if you release the balloon/car without the coins/stones

attached?
 Did you observe any changes in the speed of the balloon or car after attaching
coins or stones?
 Compare the object's initial and final speeds during acceleration.
 What's the distinction between speed and acceleration?
F. Developing mastery GROUP PRESENTATION (COLLABORATIVE LEARNING) 2.2.2 Maintain learning
(EXPLAIN) - Each group should assign 1 member from their group to present their environments that
answers to the class. Each group will be assessed through the use of promote fairness, respect
rubrics (see attachment). and care to encourage
learning.
- Each group is only given 30 sec. to 1 min. to present their output.
G. Finding practical
applications of
concepts and skills in - Through a PowerPoint presentation teacher will discuss further about
daily living
Acceleration.
(ELABORATE)
- The teacher will demonstrates how to calculate acceleration using real-life
examples like cars or bicycles, engaging students in problem-solving activities.
H. Making
generalizations and
abstractions about the
lesson
(ELABORATE)

I. Evaluating learning PROBLEM SOLVING

(EVALUATE) Directions: Determine whether the given problem is a sample of acceleration
or deceleration.
__________1. The car initially at rest accelerates uniformly from 0 m/s to 20
m/s in 5 seconds.
__________2. A rocket slows down in 10 seconds from its initial speed of
500m/s.
__________3. A skateboarder accelerates uniformly from 4 m/s to 12 m/s in 2
seconds
__________4. A train comes to a stop from a speed of 80 km/h in 20 seconds.
__________5. A car traveling at 30 m/s decelerates uniformly and comes to a
stop in 5 seconds.

II. Solve this problem

1. Problem: A roller coaster car slows down as it reaches the top of a
hill, decreasing its speed from 15 m/s to 5 m/s in 3 seconds. Find the
roller coaster car's deceleration.
2. Problem: A skateboarder accelerates uniformly from 4 m/s to 12 m/s
in 2 seconds. Calculate the skateboarder's acceleration.
J. Additional activities Directions: Answer the given problem below at home.
for application or
remediation Problem: A relay team of four runners is participating in a race. The first
(EXTEND)
runner starts from rest and accelerates to a speed of 6 m/s in 4 seconds. After
passing the baton to the second runner, the team's acceleration slows down,
and the second runner reaches a speed of 5 m/s in 3 seconds. The third runner
then accelerates further to reach a speed of 7 m/s in 5 seconds. Finally, the
fourth runner, who takes the baton from the third runner, accelerates to a speed
of 8 m/s in 2 seconds. What is the acceleration of each runner?
