1.0 OBJECTIVE

This method statement outlines and provides information and identifies requirements of the
work sequence intended for the Installation of Distribution Board shall follow as per contract
requirements and drawings.

2.0 SCOPES

a) This method statement covers the procedure for the installation of Distribution Box.
All materials shall be approved by consultant engineer.
b) The scope of this plan is to provide a guideline for the implementation of quality
assurance on installation work. Ensure to comply with project requirements and
specifications.

3.0 WORK METHODLOGY

3.1 PREPARATION

Check the shop drawings, Material submission and Method statement are approved,
a) Ensure all contents are available inside DB.
b) Ensure all types i.e. pin type, ring type. etc lugs available.
c) Ensure circuit identification shall be correctly done.
d) Megger used shall have a valid calibration certificate.

3.2 PRE - INSTALLATION PROCEDURES.

a) After receipt of Distribution board, MCB, ELCB and it accessories inspection shall be
carried out to confirm size, quantity and quality as per technical specification.
b) Distribution board, MCB, ELCB and its accessories shall be stacked in a dry storage area
with an identification tag.
c) Workplace shall be cleared of any debris & foreign materials.
d) Necessary Distribution board installation materials shall be checked as per drawings/
specifications.
e) Distribution board installation gang shall be finalized for execution of the job.
f) All required tools & tackles shall be shifted to the site before start installation of
Distribution board.

3.3 METHOD OF DISTRIBUTION BOARD (DB) INSTALLATION

a) All DBs wall mounting and floor mounted arrangement will be in accordance with
approved shop drawings and the approved material submittal. Ensure the position of
the DB as per approved shop drawing.
b) Ensure that painting of the wall is completed prior to marking and mounting of DB.
c) Confirm label/marking to ensure that is the correct panel and check the position
according to the approved shop drawings.
d) After marking are then drilled according to the selected sizes of anchor bolts to
appropriate depth.
e) Locknuts on the anchor bolts will ensure a permanent fixing of the DB support to the
wall/slab.
f) If there is more than one DB to be installed at the same location, they shall be installed
side by side and clearance shall be maintained as per approved shop drawing.
g) The height of Distribution Board shall be maintained as per approved shop drawing so
that easy access for termination of cables and other maintenance work can be carried
out.
h) Cut-out shall be made for inserting the wire in DB and same cut out shall be provided
with a rubber gasket so that there will be no sharp edges and secure the wire insulation
from damage.
i) Wire inserted in the DB will be cross-checked for existing circuit number done and final
ferruling shall be done as approved shop drawing.
j) Wire in DB shall be used cable tie and dress with bunching of the phase-neutral and earth
and lugged to the respective MCBs and Bus bar as per approved shop drawing.
k) Bunching shall be done as per phase separation respectively R, Y and B.
l) DBs shall be provided with body earthing connections.
m) After complete termination of wire/cable same DB compartment shall be cleaned and
fixed door.

4.0 INSPECTION.
a) The site inspection shall be carried out with C.O.W / R.E. to ensure the conformance of
the installation of works is accordance to the approved drawings and specifications.

5.0 HEALTH, SAFETY, SECURITY AND ENVIROMENT

a. All workers will be provided with appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) and
MUST be worn during work. Workers who failed to comply with this requirement shall
remove from site.
b. Safety work procedure will be implementing in compliance with DOSH requirements.
c. Site Supervisor will closely supervise and checked the safety of the working area before
and after worked. Safety measure will be intensified when the risk are higher during
period of work.
