Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the
acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and
habits. Educational methods include storytelling, discussion,
teaching, training, and directed research. But education does
not only focus on classroom activities and academic. It does
not concentrate on just reading and writing but also in
extracurricular activities such as sports and scouting.
Scouting or the Scout Movement is a movement that
aims to support young people in their physical, mental and
spiritual development, that they may play constructive roles in
society, with a strong focus on the outdoors and survival skills.
A Scout learns the cornerstones of the Scout method, Scout
Promise, and Scout Law. These are designed to instill
Description/ character, citizenship, personal fitness, and leadership in boys
Rationale through a structured program of outdoor activities. Common
ways to implement the Scout method include spending time
together in small groups with shared experiences, rituals, and
activities, as well as emphasizing good citizenship and
decision-making that is age-level appropriate. Cultivating a
love and appreciation of the outdoors and outdoor activities
are key elements. Primary activities, mostly on outdoor
include camping, woodcraft, first
aid, aquatics, hiking, backpacking, and sports. Thus scouting is
learning by doing, developing character through hands-on
activity.

HIGHLIGHTS OF ACCOMPLISHMENT
Continuous changes in society generate the need to
manage non-formal areas of learning as an extension,
enrichment and alternative to traditional forms of teaching,
understanding that learning and human development not only
occur in formal contexts, but extend to an entire socio-cultural
network of non-formal and informal learning. Scouting is a
non-formal educational strategy that can positively influence
the academic performance of children and adolescents. non-
formal educational activities can enhance the acquisition of
key skills in education and their results show that participants
in the Scout movement from the (children aged 8 to 10 years)
acquired the skills of adaptation, communication, creativity,
emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit, leadership,
problem solving and decision-making. These abilities are
Impact/Results
directly related to academic performance, as in addition to
overall cognitive skills students must show adequate growth in
aspects such as emotional control . The Scout movement offers
a non-sedentary lifestyle, committed to personal and social
skills, which makes it easier for its participants to obtain better
academic performance. This school year Calangitan
Elementary School was so grateful for the opportunity to have
the Investiture and Backyard Camping again in a face to face
modality after a two-year break brought about by the
pandemic. Scouts and troop leaders were all excited to execute
the planned activities set by the boy scout and girl scout
leaders and was done simultaneously. Parents are so
cooperative and participative in making these activities to be
realized and make it successful.

a bigger opportunity to join the provincial jamborette
Suggestions Planning and organizing an activity are important factors in
making an event a successful one. Time plays a vital role and
setting a timeline will guide the implementers to achieve their
objectives and goals. Considering the level of scouts in terms of
their ages and differences. Troop Leaders and facilitators
should consider some activities that will suit the needs of the
learners specifically scouts from the lower grades department
these are the TWINKLERS, KID SCOUTS, STAR SCOUTS and
KAB SCOUTS. They should be given activities that they will be
motivated well to participate by engaging themselves with
their parents and guardians right after the investiture proper.
During the backyard encampment, scouts should be properly
oriented on how the campfire is to be done after the rituals,
and they should also be taught some round songs while the
campfire is on going to make this activity more lively.

priorities of everyday world. The scouting community should
also maintain its goal and objective in holistic approach.
