Keychain
Hi-Loft Quality Toy Stuffing
3mm Crochet Hook
Wool Needle (for sewing)

Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
inc – 2 stitches into next stitch
dec – decrease over next two stitches in front loops only
sl st – slip stitch
f/o – fasten off by slip stitch in next stitch

Note:
Unless stated work in continuous rounds marking last stitch of each row with a stitch
marker before proceeding with the next.
When stuffing make sure that you don’t overstuff as you don’t want the stuffing to show
through when complete.

Turnip:
Using Amethyst:
Row 1: ch2, dc 8 into 2nd st from hook (alternatively dc 8sts into magic ring) (8)
Row 2: inc x8 (16)
Row 3: (dc into next st, inc) x8 (24)
Rows 4 – 6: dc (24) (3 rows)

F/O leaving a short end

Using White:
Row 7: sl st to join in dc to right of F/O st, dc into next 24sts (24)
Row 8: dc (24)
Row 9: (dc into next 2sts, dec) x6 (18)
Row 10: (dc into next 4sts, dec) x3 (15)
Row 11: (dc into next 3sts, dec) x3 (12)
Stuff Turnip
Row 12: dec x6 (6)

Row 13: dec x3 to close hole (3)
Row 14: ch6 (6)

F/O leaving a 3 or 4cm end (down to preference).

Leaves:
Using Grass:
1st Leaf: leaving a 10cm end, sl st into starting circle on turnip top, ch8, sl st into 2 nd ch
from hook, ch3, miss 2, sl st into 3rd ch along ch8, ch2, miss 1, sl st into 2 nd ch along ch8, sl
st to base of leaf, sl st into starting circle on turnip top, DO NOT F/O
2nd Leaf: ch8, remove from hook and pull out loop slightly, thread through keychain, place
back on hook with loop now through keychain base, miss 2, sl st into 3 rd ch along ch8, sl st
into 2nd ch from hook, ch3, miss 2, sl st into 3rd ch along ch8, ch2, miss 1, sl st into 2nd ch
along ch8, sl st to base of leaf, sl st into starting circle on turnip top

F/O leaving a 10cm end.

Secure both the 10cm ends with a couple of small sts before weaving through turnip and
cut flush to finish.
