RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PHILIPPINE POPULATION

AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN OF ACTION (PPD-POA) 2023-2028.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action (PPD-

POA) 2023-2028 which was approved by the Office of the President through
Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 40 provides a framework for inter-agency
collaboration to optimize demographic opportunities and address remaining population
challenges in order to accelerate the attainment of the socioeconomic development
agenda under the PDP 2023-2028;

WHEREAS, the same memorandum circular encourages local government

units (LGUs) to undertake efforts in support of the implementation of the PPD-POA
2023-2028, and the plans and programs stated therein;

WHEREAS, with the implementation of the Mandanas-Garcia ruling since

2022, the responsibilities of the CPD that has been transferred and assumed by the
LGUs need to be strengthened and sustained to ensure the continuity of the population
program at the local level;

WHEREAS, this august body recognizes the importance of effectively

managing and developing the population to facilitate local socioeconomic development
at the household up to the local level; hence identifies that full support for the
implementation of the PPD-POA 2023-2028 is a must to accelerate the attainment
thereof;

WHEREAS, the Local Government Unit of __________________ expresses full

support for the implementation of the PPD-POA 2023-2028 through integration of the
PPD-POA’s goals and objectives in the local plans and programs;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Hon. ______________________, unanimously

seconded by all the Honorable Members present, be it-

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to express full support for the

implementation of PPD-POA 2023-2028 in the local level;

RESOLVED, FINALLY, that a copy of this resolution be furnished the Office of

the Municipal Mayor, Municipal Population Office, Commission on Population and
Development – Region V, and such other concerned officers or agencies, for their
information and appropriate action.
