One tale from Canterbury Tales is "The Miller's Tale". The tale revolves around a
carpenter named John, his young wife Alison, and a young scholar named Nicholas. Nicholas
falls in love with Alison and hatches a plan to sleep with her while her husband is away. He
pretends to be a prophet and convinces John that a great flood, similar to Noah's Ark, is coming.
Nicholas makes John spend the night in a tub tied to the ceiling. In the meantime, Absolon, a
parish clerk, also tries to pursue Alison. When Nicholas and Alison are alone, they sleep
together. However, Absolon arrives and wants a kiss from Alison. Instead, Nicholas sticks his
backside out of the window, and Absolon kisses it. Absolon enlists the help of a blacksmith, and
the tale ends with each character receiving their just desserts for their actions.
