As part of the requirements for a master's program, the undersigned would like to
conduct a study on "Learning Gaps in English of Grade 5 Learners in the Division
of Catanduanes: Basis for Learning Recovery Program." Data collection is required
to gather the necessary study variables to accomplish this.
In light of this, I humbly request your office's permission to administer an English Pre
and Post assessment for grade 5 students for the upcoming school year 2023-2024
(first and second quarter) in all central schools in the Division of Catanduanes.
Furthermore, I would like also to request your approval to gather the data on the
enrollments of my respondents that would be utilized for the purpose of data collection
and sample selection.

Good day!

As part of the requirements for a master's program, the undersigned would like
to conduct a study on "Learning Gaps in English of Grade 5 Learners in the
Division of Catanduanes: Basis for Learning Recovery Program." Data collection is
required to gather the necessary study variables to accomplish this. The target
participants are Grade V pupils from 18 central schools in the Division of
Catanduanes, one of which is your school.
The research instrument that will be used is an English Pre and Post
assessment for grade 5 students of the present school year (first and second quarter)
prepared by the undersigned student. The mentioned research instrument is MELC-
Based and has been validated by experts in the field. It also undergone pilot testing to
ensure its validity and reliability.
In light of this, the undesigned humbly request your consent to administer the
exam to the chosen group of Grade 5 students at your school as part of the data
collection process.
Rest assured that the school’s information will be kept confidential, and the
results will be used for research purposes only.
