DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implementation of the site HSE plan, emergency plan and carried out risk assessment.
• Advise on the prevention of injury to personal, damage to plant and equipment and
further improvements in existing working methods.
• Suitability from a safety viewpoint of new and hired plant and equipment and validity of
all appropriate test certificates.
• Carry out survey and inspection on regular basis in association with supervision to ensure
that safe working practices are in operation.
• Ensuring that all safety equipment and personal protective clothing on the project is
suitable for use and complies with the approved standard.
• Conducting safety inspections on the site as per procedure, and providing
recommendation and information to the project manager or his designate.
• Compiling and maintaining the subcontractor’s safety performance and advising project
manager and Area HSE Engineer.
• Conduction site safety inspection and ensuring that any safety violations observed and
immediately corrected and that the employees responsible for the violation are educated
and supervisors cautioned and instructed on the proper method of work.
• Conducting joint safety inspection with sub contractors’ representatives with their area
of responsibility and assisting the in providing on the job safety training (toolbox talk) for
their employees when required.
• Liaise with site management to ensure that all work is planned and conducted safely.
• Checking the proper ventilation and access must be provided for the flow of fresh air and
emergency escape.
• Ensuring while cutting, welding or burning the equipment’s the other equipment’s is
properly blanketed and all emergency procedures must be adopted.
• Complete the accident report Performa.
• Assist in conducting accident investigation.
• Providing toolbox talk to all health and safety requirement on site including instruction
on the use of safety equipment, Personal protective equipment.
• Preparing agenda for the regular safety meeting with site management, and sub-
contractor, and maintaining broad safety awareness on the project.
• Inspection of all electrical equipment, machines and tool before use.
• Checking and tagging of scaffolding after inspection.
• To check the first aid facilities available are adequate at site.
• To ensure that PPE is available in store.
• To assist the supervisors in ensuring that all safe regulation and procedure are followed.
• Coordinate safety measures when construction is taking place adjacent to hazardous
area buried gas utilities, etc.
• Ensure firefighting equipment is properly maintained and strategically positioned.
