Conditions Which Generate This Code:

The primary circuit of the transformer is diagnosed with an open circuit.

System Response:

The warning output is activated. The diagnostic code may be viewed on the Digital Diagnostic Tool
(DDT) or on the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).

One of the following conditions is the source of the diagnostic code:

z A broken circuit driver's wire for the transformer

z A broken return wire for the transformer

z An open circuit within the primary winding of the transformer

z An internal failure of the control module for the Electronic Ignition System (EIS)

Test Step 1. Perform the following diagnostic procedure: Ignition Transformers Primary Circuit

Results:

z OK - STOP
