● Process for Course Outcome Attainment:

o CO attainment is to be done for batches (NOT academic year wise).
o Students admitted to the batch in First Year (DTE approved list), (that list
includes intake + EWS + J&K + TFWS).
o Students added to the batch in Second year via Direct Admission + EWS +
TFWS + Branch change.
o For a given batch DO NOT consider students from previous batches (YD
students).
o Course Outcome Attainment is to be computed for all the theory, practical
courses, including Seminar, Project Work, Elective Courses and Audit
Courses. (While computing CO Attainment ensures the student list has NO
students from any other batches. Consider Elective courses, ONLY and ONLY
if the entire batch of students have opted for the Elective Course. Audit
Courses can be considered if assessment is done using any of the assessment
tools specified for all the students).
o For theory courses consider following assessment tools {refer [1,2] as well} :

a. Unit test
b. MCQ Test
c. Assignments/ Problem Solving
d. Tutorial
e. Programming Skill Test
o For practical / oral / tutorial courses consider following assessment tools,
a. Internal continuous assessment of lab work
b. Mock practical / oral (Rubrics to be defined).
c. Mock Seminar (Rubrics to be defined)
d. Project Work (Rubrics to be defined)
CO attainment levels were divided in two parts:
i. External Assessment Includes University In-Sem and End-Semester Examination
(80% weightage) - and University Oral/Practical Examination and University
Term work
ii. Internal Assessment (20% Continuous Assessment – Tests/ MCQ/Assignments/ Quiz/
weightage) - Simulation/ Programming Skill Test/ Problem Solving.

The respective Program along with Program Coordinator and teaching faculty members of
the department/programs can decide the Target, Difficulty Level Analysis, and the
Attainment Levels. (As an example, the details are provided for reference below,)

TARGET (For Computing CO Attainment) (this is just one sample example)

All courses are classified in three categories based on their difficulty level (High, Medium,
and Low). Difficulty levels are determined based on the SPPU result for the previous
academic year (average of last 2/3 years End_SEM Theory result can also be considered) .

Attainment Levels based on analysis of previous batch list should be considered.

Process for PO Attainment
PO attainment levels were divided in two parts:
Direct Attainment (80% weightage) - Includes CO attainment of all courses (Th and Lab
work).
In-direct Attainment (20% weightage) - Includes attainment of Program Exit Survey,
Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, Employers feedback and Alumni feedback.
For Direct assessment of PO Attainment, consider all the theory courses, practical courses.
Consider Elective courses, ONLY and ONLY if the entire batch of students have opted for the
Elective Course. Audit courses can be taken into consideration if and ONLY if, appropriate
rubrics and evaluation has been done and appropriate proofs are in place with the program.
Consider Activity directly for PO Attainment, ONLY and ONLY if the activity is for 30HRS
or more.
If an activity is for less than 30HRS, while computing PO attainment, cumulatively compute
the attainment of all the activities (less than 30HRS) based on the Quiz conducted after
conduction of the activity.

Certain details should be displayed on website, by all Programs,

1. Vision, Mission, POs and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the program.
2. The Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
3. The said courses along with their respective Course Outcomes (COs)
4. Course Articulation Matrix (CAM), Mapping of Course Outcome to Program
Outcome and Program Specific Outcome.
