A. Review
Review the tips about how to show interest in others which you’ve learned in
the previous unit.

Tips:
① Listen and ask questions to show you are interested in your
partner’s talking.
② Paraphrase what your partner says to show that you are listening.
③ Empathize to show you understand how your partner feels.
④ Offer genuine compliments to your partner.
⑤ Show respect to your partner.

Make up a short conversation. Your tutor is going to talk first and


share her/his story with you. You should listen to what your tutor
says and give appropriate response. (look back Exercise 2 as a
reference). You can also share your own experience with your
tutor if you want.
