1.1 Description of destinations of the field study report

 Mount Bromo
Situated in East Java, Indonesia, Mount Bromo is an iconic and spectacular
volcano. Notable for its stunning scenery, Mount Bromo provides an unearthly
dawn experience from its well-known vantage point. Traveling to Mount Bromo is
an adventure in and of itself, with a gorgeous drive through verdant countryside
and charming communities. The Mount Bromo field study offers a chance to
investigate the volcano's geological marvels, comprehend the cultural significance
of the mountain to the Tenggerese people living there, and look at the ecological
features of the surrounding Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
 Batu Night Spectacular
Located in the quaint village of Batu, this attraction provides a distinctive
fusion of cultural experiences and entertainment. A mystical ambiance is created
as the sun sets and the amusement park's colorful lights come to life. This location
offers an intriguing look into the worlds of local art, entertainment, and cuisine.
The field research at Batu Night Spectacular enables an examination of the
cultural components incorporated into the park's attractions as well as the
socioeconomic effects of the tourism sector on the neighborhood.
 University of Muhammadiyah Malang
University of Muhammadiyah Malang is a well-known academic
institution located in the center of Malang, Indonesia. With an emphasis on
scientific achievement, cultural diversity, and community involvement, this
institution is critical in shaping the next generation of regional leaders. Field
studies at the Muhammadiyah University of Malang offer the opportunity to learn
more about the university's teaching strategies, especially in the English language
education study program. One of the main objectives of our visit here is to share
knowledge and experience and hold a national seminar with the title " Integrating
Islamic Content into English Language Teaching in Islamic Affiliated Schools."
1.2 Description of the activities during the program

During our field studies, both students and staff engage in a variety of activities at
each destination, creating a comprehensive and enriching experience. At Mount Bromo,
the day started at 4 in the morning we boarded a jeep to continue our journey to Mount
Bromo up the first climb, then we descended to Mount Bromo and we were greeted with
a delicious breakfast, preparing for a day full of exploration. Students immerse
themselves in the unique landscape, take stunning photos and enjoy panoramic views of
mountains and craters.

As night fell, our journey took us to the bustling Batu Night Spectacular, a lively
amusement park that added an element of excitement to our itinerary. The students
enthusiastically rode various rides, including the thrilling Sky Ride, the thrilling Drop N'
Twist, the adrenaline-pumping Go-Kart and the thrilling House of Ghosts.

The next morning until noon was dedicated to a visit to the prestigious University of
Muhammadiyah Malang. The students actively participated in a seminar entitled
"Integrating Islamic Content into English Language Teaching in Islamic Affiliated
Schools." The keynote speaker, Ms. Rafika Rabba Farah, an eminent lecturer at the
university, shared valuable insights with the students. He discusses important tools, apps,
and websites that can enhance teaching and learning. Mrs. Farah further explored the
importance of incorporating Islamic values into teaching methods.

After the seminar, the students explored the campus, especially the area around the
Teacher Training and Education Faculty. This provides an opportunity to gain a deeper
understanding of the academic environment and facilities offered by the university.
Documenting this insightful visit, the students immortalized the moment through
photographs, preserving memories and insights for further reflection.

In short, our field study included a wide range of activities, from a quiet breakfast in
the shadow of Mount Bromo to exciting rides at the Batu Night Spectacular and
intellectually stimulating seminars at the Muhammadiyah University of Malang. Each
destination contributes to a holistic and immersive experience, fostering not only
academic knowledge but also a sense of camaraderie among participants.
CHAPTER 2
REFLECTION

Embarking on an enriching adventure that included visits to Bromo, the captivating

Batu Night Spectacular, and the esteemed University of Muhammadiyah Malang, we
found ourselves immersed in a tapestry of new experiences that left a lasting impact. The
exploration of these diverse locations became a source of immense joy, marking this
journey as a unique chapter in our lives.

Particularly enlightening was our engagement in a seminar, which provided deep

insights into pedagogical approaches rooted in Islamic principles and values. This
exposure not only expanded our academic perspectives but also instilled a greater
appreciation for the integration of Islamic teachings in the educational landscape.

However, our journey extended beyond academic insights. We gained valuable life
skills, mastering the art of respectful behavior and cultivating polite communication.
These skills proved essential in establishing harmonious relationships with fellow
students, lecturers, and the dedicated staff of tour guides, hotels, and the University of
Muhammadiyah Malang. The trip not only broadened our cultural understanding but also
equipped us with the interpersonal skills necessary for forging meaningful connections
and collaborations in various social and professional settings.

Recommendations and Suggestions
Recommendations and Assessment for the KKL Program in Malang, dated
January 29 to February 1, 2024:

1. Facility Improvement:
a. Recommendation: Enhance the KKL facilities to ensure a more comfortable
and productive experience for participants. While acknowledging the
adequacy of previous KKL facilities, there is room for improvement to elevate
the overall participant experience. Maintaining the existing facilities or,
ideally, upgrading them for the upcoming KKL can contribute significantly to
participant satisfaction.
b. Assessment: Conduct a thorough evaluation to gauge the effectiveness of the
current facilities and determine their level. Understanding the strengths and
weaknesses of the existing facilities is crucial for making informed decisions
about potential enhancements.

2. Conduct study trips to places you have never visited before:

a. Recommendation: Introduce a comparative study visit to a location that has
not been explored in previous KKL programs. This addition aims to diversify
participants' experiences, offering them a broader perspective and a richer
understanding of different industries and practices.
b. Assessment: Evaluate the positive impact of the comparative study on
participants' comprehension of various industry contexts and practices.
Measure the satisfaction levels of participants during and after the visit to
assess the success of this addition.

By implementing these suggestions, the expectation is that the KKL program

can elevate its overall quality, ensuring a more enriching and beneficial experience for
participants. These improvements aim to align the program more closely with its
learning objectives, fostering continuous growth and development for all involved.
