MODULE 11 ASSESSMENT

1. Rizal is certainly deserving of the title of national hero. Filipinos debate to this day who,
among Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio, who died months apart battling Spanish tyranny,
deserves to be remembered as a national hero. By history books and history subjects, Jose
Rizal has always been considered and recognized as a martyr and patriotic guy who gave his
life for our own country. Understanding Rizal the man can be challenging since we regular,
non-academics have no direct access to what he left behind. However, after consulting
secondary and tertiary sources, I've come to the conclusion that Jose Rizal isn't quite the hero
we think he is. He belonged to the elite. Jose Rizal is our national hero because Filipinos
place a high value on peace over war. The pen, according to Rizal, was more powerful than
the sword.

2. Yes, because Rizal's view of the value of education is vividly expressed in his work
Instruction, in which he calls for reforms in schools and teaching methods. He asserted that
the Philippines' backwardness during the Spanish era was attributable to the Spanish
authorities' neglect of the islands, not the Filipinos' indifference, apathy, or indolence, as
claimed by the rulers. The aim of education, according to Rizal, is to raise the country to its
utmost level of dignity and to develop the people's mentality. Rizal claimed that only
education could free the country from dominance because education is the foundation of
society and a precondition for social progress.

3. Dr. Jose Rizal chose the youth as our country's future hope because he believes in us and
believes that we, the youth and the elderly, can work together to establish a brighter future for
our country. In our country, youth have the right to speak! We have the authority to guide our
country toward a more prosperous future. The youth's responsibility is to simply replenish,
refresh, and maintain. Youth can help to rejuvenate and refresh our society's existing state,
including leadership, innovation, and skills. The youth are expected to enhance the country's
existing technology, education, politics, and peace. Youths, on the other hand, must maintain
our culture, as well as all excellent ideals in society, development programs, and so on.

4. If Rizal had lived today, I am certain he would have written about the myriad malignancies
that plague our social, economic, and political environment. But, just as he used to fall for
Nelly Bousted and Osei-san, he'd keep an eye on Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach. If Rizal
were still living today, we would be constantly inspired to achieve greatness in a variety of
professions.
