1. PURPOSE
o This procedure is established to describe all activities related to chain link fence as per International
standards and Aramco standards at all Buildings.
2. SCOPE
o This procedure covers:
 Excavation & Backfilling for chain link fence post.
Concreting work for chain link fence post.
Installation of chain link fence & gate as per approved shop drawing.

4. RESPONSIBILITES

1. Site Manager
 The Site Manager ensures that the Site QC Sections are provided with the necessary facilities and
cooperation from all Supervisor, Foreman and Labor to enable satisfactory inspection and
verification of activities performed by the site civil section.
2. Site Engineer
 The Site Engineer has the overall responsibility for the implementation of work as per approved
drawings. He shall arrange the manpower, equipment and materials required for the implementation
of the works, coordinate with HSE Officer and QA/QC Site Manager involved in the tasks in
accordance to the method statement.
3. Safety Supervisor
 The Safety Supervisor ensures that all safety management will be enforced in a ways to prevent
injury to personnel, damage to Plant and/or equipment and fires.
4. Civil Supervisor and/or Foremen
 The Civil Supervisor and/or Foremen are solely responsible the erection of chain link fence
assuring all materials installed permanently and works being implemented are in conformance with
specifications and approved drawings.
5. QC Manager :
 He will ensure all the material & method statement is approved prior to start of work. He will
explain QC requirement for installation of fence to PM, site representative & QC
supervisor/inspector by coordination with them. He will ensure that fence installers are trained and
skilled & if required he will arrange training for them. He will ensure that all work is inspected and
accepted as per Aramco requirement & SATIP. He will identify any potential nonconformance &
suggest preventive action to eliminate occurrence of nonconformance.
6. QC Civil Inspector
The QC Inspector is responsible to conduct daily surveillance and inspections as necessary in

accordance with this procedure and project quality requirement. Prepare quality control records and
documentation to secure completion of activity for final acceptance and handover.
5. MATERIALS & TOOLS
1. Back fill soil :
 Soil used for back filling surrounding foundation shall be from approved source and having
required test repots
2. Concrete:
 28MPA concrete with approved mix design shall be used for chain link foundation for onsite
concrete.
 35 MPA concrete with approved mix design shall be used for precast foundation.
3. Chain link fence fabric, tension wire, post & fixing hardware
 Approval for chain link fabric, tension wire, post & fixing hardware shall be taken as per approved
shop drawing and ARAMCO standards.

6. WORK PROCEDURE FOR CEMENT PLASTERING
1. Excavation & Backfilling:

1. General excavation shall be performed after clearing and grubbing has been completed.
2. Survey points for chain link fence post as per approved drawing shall be given to start the
excavation
3. Excavation shall be performed as required by the IFC Drawings, SASD & approved shop drawing
to the dimensions, grades, elevations, formwork if required, and with allowance for compaction
4. After acceptance of post foundation concrete, soil backfilling shall be done as per SAES-A-114 &
relevant SATIP &
2. Concreting for line & brace post foundation

 After Excavation, survey points shall be marked on ground for position of line
 Form work shall be prepared as per approved shop drawing and ARAMCO standard drawing.
 Line post will be placed vertically as shown in approved It will be placed in position by providing
additional support.
 After fixing line post concreting shall be done with concrete boom placer & approved ready mixed
 Proper vibration shall be done as per requirement for consolidation of
 Top face of concrete shall be sloped as shown in approved drawing & as per standard.
 Care should be taken for positioning of line post during concreting. Alignment & verticality should
be check after placing concrete & when concrete is still

 If any damaged concrete surface, it shall be repaired as per approved method of

3. Chain link fence fabric & tension wire Installation:
Installation of chain link fence will be done by approved and trained

 Installation of chain link fence shall be done as per approved shop drawing & ARAMCO
 Final inspection of chain link fence will be done as per SAIC-M-1005 for bracings, alignment,
verticality, straightness & damages.
 Any damaged coating or portion shall be repaired as per ARAMCO & manufacturer’s
recommendation.
7. QUALITY CONTROL & INSPECTION PLAN

o All materials, workmanship and inspection shall conform to all Saudi Aramco Typical Inspection Plan,
Saudi Aramco Inspection Checklist, Construction Specification, Standard Drawings and IFC Drawings.
8. SITE HEALTH & SAFETY
o The work shall be executed in accordance with the approved safety plan. Work permit shall be obtained
prior to any commencement of the work when required.
9. CONFLICTS AND DEVIATIONS

1.Any conflicts between this Specification and other applicable Saudi Aramco Materials System
Specifications (SAMSSs), Engineering Standards (SAESs), Standard Drawings (SASDs) or industry
standards, codes, and forms shall be resolved in writing by the Company through the Manager, Consulting
Services Department. For any predefined waiver, request shall be raised before one month prior to start
