1. PURPOSE
 To ensure that all Demolition Works & Reconstruction works at

 are executed safely, in accordance with the contract requirements, that all quality
 assurance/control activities are conducted in a systematic manner, work are
 inspected, and conformance is verified and documented.

2. Scope

This method statement outlines the procedure to be followed for all Demolition
Works & Reconstruction works at the SAFANIYAH WATER DISPOSAL SYSTEM
REFURBISHMENT PROJECT, (SWDS) AT location as shown in the contract drawings.
Specific reference is made to contract drawing number RA-666802.

4. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT


The Contractor is intending to use the following necessary tools, equipment and
other accessories as minimum requirements in executing the works:

Surveying Equipment

Personal Protective Equipment

Water Tankers

5. RESPONSIBILITIES OF KEY PERSONNEL

 Construction Manager
The Construction Manager will coordinate with Site Engineer and ensure that the ne-
cessary resources to implement the approved method statement, for Job Hazard
Analysis have been allocated to the task.

 Site Engineer
The Site Engineer will ensure that the site preparation activities are
conducted according to the approved method statement, Job Hazard
Analysis. The Site Engineer will also ensure that all in-situ tests, as required
by the Inspection and Test Plan, are implemented.

 Quality Control/Assurance Engineer


The QA/QC will ensure that the materials being used are in accordance with the an-
notated project specifications and the approved material submittals.
The QA/QC personnel shall regularly inspect, verify, record and ensure that the work
performed under the contract conforms to the requirements of the project specifica-
tion Saudi Aramco Standards and all applicable documents. And all the necessary
documents will be available upon request on site.
The QC team shall ensure that all Site Supervisors are working to the current Ap-
proved drawings & document revision.

 Site Foreman/Civil Supervisor


The Site Foreman/Civil Supervisor shall be in charge for the supervision
and implementation of works, as instructed by the Site engineer. He will be
responsible for the execution of works in compliance to approved drawing
and contract specifications. Foreman shall also keep record of all work
schedules, work production and daily safety issues.

 HSE Department
HSE department is responsible for all aspect of the satisfactory for safety per-
formance on the excavation and filling works.

 HSE Manager
The appointed HSE Manger shall be primarily responsible for coordination
and implementation of all works associated with this Method Statements in-
cluding all activities of the subcontracts and vendors.

 Safety Supervisor
The Safety Supervisor checks the risks and other hazards for each
particular activity and analyzes the procedure in executing the works to be
completed. They ensure compliance of all personnel to all safety
requirements by wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), proper use
of lifting equipment (crane) &devices including the condition and proper
positioning, and that necessary permit or certificate I available. The Safety
Supervisor verifies the installation of safety tools and abiding to the Safety
Procedures.
He checks areas for possible unsafe conditions and coordinate with the Site
Superintendent & Supervisors in ensuring that work is carried out in
compliance to the Project Safety Plan and ensures safety orientation,
induction training and toolbox talk for individual activities are done before
the activity starts.
He is also tasked to understand all requirements relating to HSE for legal and
mandatory regulations of the Kingdom, the project’s contract schedule ‘D’,
SASC and SACSM, and ensure that they are fully enforced on the project.

Safety Supervisor will be managing overall site implementation of the Aramco


approved project-specific Safety plan with SSEM field work force and
subcontractors. Report administratively to the HSE Manager. Conduct pre-
deployment safety orientation or induction course with new employees and
returnees upon their arrival at project site and before they are assigned of any
task or before deployed to their respective work assignments.

 Safety Officer
Safety Officer will be deployed to site on a full time basis and responsible for
continuous safety inspection, monitoring and ensuring complete and
continues safety inspection, monitoring and ensuring complete and continual
compliance of the work force to all safety procedure and practices. He will
also report to and assist his site safety manager / supervisor in the overall
implementation of the clients’ Safety requirements and client-approved
project-specific Safety Plan and related activities.

 Permit Receiver
Initiating and completing all applicable section of the permit to work.
Supervising the work prescribe in the permit to work to ensure it is
conducted in the most efficient manner. Notifying the issuer of work
progress and completion and ensuring that the site is returned in a safe and
operational state. Taking adequate care to preserve the permit in good
condition. Providing and arranging all necessary resources related with
performing the work.

6. SAFETY

 The HSE plan & manual will be strictly followed throughout the execution of
works. In addition to the requirements of HSE plan & manual, all safety
requirements established for the premises of the company must be comply.
 The level of personal protection & control measures specified in the HSE
plan and manual will be observed by all personnel engaged in this project.
7. WORK PROCEDURE

 Demolition Works

- Contractor to obtain all permit to works required prior to proceed with any
site related activities.
- First demolition the purpose pedestal #PS-129,130,131 at 383 Near the
Pump foundation AT 369 Plant area. Up to the 600mm as per approved TQ
EN-NHC-SWDS-TR-0693-21
- Obtain relevant drawing related to work from all the concern departments.
- Install barricades and hoarding around the perimeter of the building to be
demolished and to install necessary scaffolding required for the removal of
roofing & cladding other building parts.
- Remove all the concrete foundation up to 60 cm below the ground level
using jack hammer and dispose all debris to company designated yard.
- Level and grade the area including housekeeping.

 Reconstruction Works
- Chipping the Existing Concrete and make the surface ruff.
- Make the surface neat and clean before the formwork close.
- Damage Existing Rebar make the touch up with the approved patching material.
- Make sure the rebar elevation as per the IFC with sign surveyor.
- Arrange the inspection activity as per SATIP-Q-001-02.
- After the Required inspection pour the Concrete, curing as per SAES-Q-001.
- Complete the Requirement of SAES-Q-001 and then do the surface preparation
Coating as per SATIP-H-003-01.
- After the Complete the Requirement of SAES-H-003 Construction start backing
filling layer by layer as per SAES-A-114.
