commencing installation, and that the latest revisions of IFC drawings,
specifications including approved procedures are disseminated to the concerned
personnel who will carry out the work.

2. Confirm correct material size / type and other associated materials are available
and meet the requirements of the project specifications.

3. Check that all the electrical materials are new and unused.

4. Check the manufacturer's name, trade name, or other acceptable marking whereby
the organization responsible for the product can be readily identified.

5. Check the availability of the product installation instruction, if necessary.

6. Electrical materials shall be identified by using tags, stamps, color coding,

stencils or labels.

7. Check that the materials are traceable from the manufacturer and/or supplier
through delivery, storage, fabrication, erection, installation, etc.

8. Check materials for damage before transporting to the work area. All materials
of doubtful condition or quality shall be immediately segregated from the job site.

9. Over hanging from the trailer/ truck body of any conduit material is not allowed.
Ensure that they are properly and adequately secured / supported.

10. Secure work permit for conduit installation and other associated works, if
required.

11. Ensure Safety Barriers are erected at designated work areas, if necessary.
HARADH AND HAWIYAH FIELD GAS COMPRESSION PROJECT 10130

INSTALLATION 10

KAMCO-TRSA-ELE-MOS-003 REV.: 00

12. Check and confirm actual proposed routing against approved construction
drawings.

13. For above ground installation, ensure adequate scaffold ladders and access
ways are available at the work location.

14. Plan the work area with separate storage, work and waste disposal locations,
to avoid congestion and enable systematic installation.

15. Ensure that conduits, fittings and accessories needed to complete the work are
available at designated areas scheduled for installation, and that they are the
correct size and the routing is in accordance with approved drawings.

16. Electrical inspector shall witness installation activities.

17. Welders responsible for the conduit support shall get approval and
certification from Saudi Aramco.

18. Scaffolding Supervisor shall be approved and certified by Saudi Aramco.

19. Material receiving inspection shall be done before transporting the materials to
the work location.

20. Raceways shall be installed between outlet, junction or splicing points prior to
the installation of conductors.

6.3 INSTALLATION ACTIVITIES

1. Fabricate and install braces and supports. Welding shall be in accordance with
the approved procedures. Welding of braces and support should be sealed and
field welded. Clean and properly prime with an approved galvanized primer.

2. As early as possible, lay the metallic conduit (rigid steel conduit, liquid-tight
flexible conduit, PVC-coated rigid steel conduit, etc.) using adequate final
support. If the final support cannot be done on time due to actual site condition,
adequate steel tie wires as temporary support may be used but only for a short

period of time considering inspection and walk-through. Ensure correct fittings,

offsets, route and elevation. Properly mark the required interval of supports to
avoid obstruction, while maintaining uniformity as indicated on the typical
installation detail as well as on the plan drawings.

3. Metallic conduits shall be securely fastened within 900mm of its outlet box,
junction box, conduit body, and other conduit installation.

4. Metallic conduits shall be supported at intervals not to exceed to 3 meters.

5. Observe proper bending radius for each conduit. Run shall not contain four
90° (total of 360°) bends between pull points e.g. conduit bodies and boxes to
allow easy pulling of cable as well as preventing to damage the cable or wires.

6. Leave all newly installed empty conduits with pulling wire for quick installation
of the cable or wires.

7. Install Conduit parallel with or at right angles to walls, columns, beams etc.,
except as indicated on drawings. Uniformity and workmanship shall be observed.

8. After cutting of conduit pipes, remove any sharp burrs using a half round file.

9. Lubricate threads of plugs, junction boxes and other fittings with approved rust
preventive grease compounds.

10. Care should be taken to avoid wrench damage to conduit or PVC-coating during
tightening.

11. Field cut of metal support, and exposed conduit thread should be touched up
with zinc rich paint.

12. Provide Sealing for all conduit wall penetrations: conduit penetration should be
through metal sleeve, while sealing should be same as the rating of the wall.
Refer to SAES-P-104 Sec.15.4.1 for further guidance.

INSTALLATION 10

KAMCO-TRSA-ELE-MOS-003 REV.: 00

13. Install metal junction boxes levelled and supported with appropriate hubs,
locknuts and bushings.

14. As much as possible, install conduit bodies and Pull Boxes in a position
preventive to absorption of moist and condensation.

15. Raceway shall be provided with expansion fittings where necessary to compensate
for thermal expansion and contraction.

16. Install the conduit drain fittings at the lowest elevation of the installed conduits in
order to drain the accumulated liquids that might occur due to condensation which
is known to be problematic whenever raceways are exposed to different
temperatures.

17. Conduits crossing hazardous location boundaries shall terminate in the open air
at both ends of the conduits.

18. Small gap shall be allowed between cable tray ends and conduit openings
applicable to be dropped in conduits.

19. "Conduit fill shall not exceed the maximum fill as specified in NEC Chapter 9" or
apply basically the 40% fill and 60% space as common practice for multiple
cables/wires.

20. Installed conduit stub-up must be protected with sufficient cover or plug before
concrete pouring, or cable pulling to free from proper filling of cable or wires.
Any spare open ends properly plugged, bends free of deformities, and hard
plastic conduit spacer installed as required.

21. Conduit ends shall be sealed with duct seal or end bells wherever required
and applicable.

22. Follow Conduit run to be completed and cleaned of construction debris by

blowing with clean air prior to Cable Pulling.

24. Raceway identification of Feeder & Branch circuits: In accessible exposed ceiling
spaces of unfinished areas, label conduit with panel and circuit numbers of
conductors routed through the conduit. Label conduit at all wall penetrations and
connections to all panels, junction boxes and equipment served.

25. Empty conduits: provide labels with description of purpose, and location of
opposite end, on each of the conduits provided for future.
