Present Simple:
The present simple tense is used for actions that happen regularly, routines, general truths, or
things that are always true.
Example: "I play tennis every Sunday."
Time expressions: always, usually, often, sometimes, every day/week/month/year, on
Mondays, in the morning, etc.

2. Present Continuous:
The present continuous tense is used to talk about actions happening now or around the present
moment.
Example: "She is studying for her exam."
Time expressions: right now, at the moment, currently, today, this week/month/year, etc.

3. Present Perfect:
The present perfect tense is used to talk about past actions that are still relevant to the present
or have a connection to the present.
Example: "I have visited Paris twice."
Time expressions: already, yet, recently, so far, ever, never, just, in the last few
days/weeks/months/years, etc.

4. Present Perfect Continuous:


The present perfect continuous tense is used to talk about actions that started in the past,
continue in the present, and may continue into the future.
Example: "They have been playing soccer for two hours."
Time expressions: for, since, all day/week/month/year, lately, recently, etc.

5. Past Simple:
The past simple tense is used to talk about actions or events that happened and were completed
in the past.
Example: "I went to the beach last summer."
Time expressions: yesterday, last week/month/year, ago, in 1990, when I was a child, etc.

The past continuous tense is used to describe ongoing actions or events that were happening in
the past.
Example: "She was studying when I called her."
Time expressions: while, when, at that time, etc.

7. Past Perfect:
The past perfect tense is used to talk about an action that happened before another action or
point in the past.
Example: "He had already eaten when I arrived."
Time expressions: before, after, by the time, already, just, etc.

and continued up until another point in the past.

Example: "She will meet you tomorrow."
Time expressions: tomorrow, next week/month/year, in the future, soon, etc.

10. Future Continuous:


The future continuous tense is used to talk about ongoing actions that will happen in the future.
Example: "I will be studying when you arrive."

The future perfect tense is used to talk about an action that will be completed before another
action or point in the future.
Example: "They will have finished dinner by the time we get there."

12. Future Perfect Continuous:


The future perfect continuous tense is used to talk about ongoing actions that will continue up
until a certain point in the future.
Example: "I will have been working for eight hours by the end of the day."
