ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Responsible in implementing COMPANY safety, health and environmental rules, policies, and
procedures as well as project specific safety, health and environmental programs.
 Responsible in implementing and monitoring statutory safety, health and environmental rules,
policies, and procedures.
 Preventive maintenance on the various types of fire, safety and offshore lifesaving equipment
which includes complete checks, servicing and periodical checks on fixed extinguishing systems.
 Familiar with requirement of ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System and OHSAS
18001:2007 Safety Management System
 Preparing tool box talk.
 Coordinate and prepare emergency drills/scenario in accordance with the COMPANY’s
emergency response plan.
 Co-ordinate all inter-related matters between the HSE Committee, the Management Committee
and Line Management.
 Conduct investigation and prepare report of incident as per COMPANY’s established procedure.
 Undertake planned safety audits/inspection along with Client representative for the project.
 Review employee suggestions and advised concerned department for appropriate action as
deemed required for HSE improvement.
 Administer PTW system to control certain types of potentially hazardous work to ensure that
risk of injury and damaged is minimized.
 Prepare and coordinate safety equipment as required for offshore hook-up activities
particularly, in H2S environment. Conduct vessel safety survey inspection for offshore hook-up
works.
 Prepare and coordinate Emergency Exercises/Drills at hook up assigned jack up rigs and its
support vessels.
 Participate in the duties of firefighting and rescue team. Inspect, test and maintain fire and
safety protection systems / equipment and lifesaving appliances.
 Conduct required daily calibrations for portable gas detection devices prior to field use and
Conduct required hydrocarbon gas / toxic gas monitoring & be conversant with such
environment operating and emergency procedures.
 Participate in regular practical and theoretical training and simulated exercises of firefighting,
search & rescue, offshore survival, etc.
 Stop the work in imminent danger situations having imminent adverse environmental impact as
defined by the Project Execution Plan.
 To make sure that all safety signs boards and safety equipment are in placed within the
restricted area. To ensure that all sites personnel’s are wearing properly the personnel
Protective Equipment {PPE} while on site
 Perform safety tool box meeting to ensure that compliances by all contractors and workers in
the terms of safety policies and programme.
