The learner demonstrates understanding of how we encounter Jesus in his

Performance Standards The learner is able to determine what the signs and symbols represents.
1. The learners identify how we encounter God in Jesus
Learning Competencies 2. The learner discuss the different signs and symbols of how Jesus
communicates to us.
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to do the following with
75% proficiency:
1. reiterate that we encounter God in Jesus through the Christian
Specific Learning Outcomes
community and scriptures,
2. commit themselves to the Church’s mission, and
3. pray to God expressing our need for His abiding presence and love.
Time Allotment 160 minutes
Dates Covered September 11, 12, 13, 14, 2023; 4 days: 40 minutes/day

B. Motivation
 The teacher will show a collage of picture and they will identify who it is.
(Jesus Christ)
 The teacher will show a scenario and the learners will share what it’s all
about and how it is related to Jesus.

C. Instruction/ Delivery (Day 1)


 The teacher will show pictures of customs in the Philippines and signs
and symbols.
 What is the meaning of the actions shown in the pictures?
 The learners will write or draw 2 gestures or signs that they do often and
what does it mean
 The teacher will discuss about the signs and symbols that connects us to
God.
 The teacher will discuss how we encounter God in Jesus.
D. Practice/ Drill (Day 2)
 The learners will answer an activity.
 Write one concrete action that you are resolved to do in imitation of
Jesus who is the greatest sign of God’s love.
Ex. To imitate Jesus, I resolve to love my younger siblings by not making
fun of them.

 How will you share Jesus’ love in the following situations?

3. Your classmates came to your house for a group project. Then, it
rained and one of them had no umbrella
4. The house of your cousin was destroyed during the typhoon and her
books and notebooks were all soiled.
5. Your elderly neighbor came out from a taxi alone carrying many
things.

E. Enrichment/ Values Integration (Day 3)


In a CLE Journal notebook, let the learners answer the following.
1. What is a sign? Give one example.
2. Why do we say that Jesus is the greatest sign of God’s love?
3. Why did God send His only Son to dwell among us?
* Unity is the key to success.

F. Evaluation (Day 4)
* The teacher will give assessment to the learners.
Check and discuss the answer together with the learners.
