The question of boys and girls being taught in the same or disparate schools has

been a contentious issue, initiating a lot of discussions. Some people say that
both genders should be educated in separate schools, while others think that
they should be educated in mixed-gender schools. I agree with the latter and in
this essay, I will discuss both sides of the problem.
There are various reasons why parents should send their child to a co-
educational school. Firstly, it promotes gender equality on both sides. Children
not only receive the same opportunities but also are instructed in critical
competencies for their future. Moreover, co-educational schools will increase
children’s awareness of the value of sharing. For example, with the current
worldwide trends toward cooperation, both males and females work closely
together, which involves collaboration between them.
On the other hand, single-sex schools have their own point of view. Some
parents believe that these educational facilities can help increase their children’s
concentration in studying. But, a male and female friendship could distract them
from their studies. This is a unique reason why some parents prefer single-sex
schools more than co-educational schools. But is it worth it to study in a separate
school? These schools missed a very important part of personality education.
Students’ respect for different genders will not effectively increase here and it is
one of the most important skills for children to grow up completely in terms of
personality.
In conclusion, I do not see any worthy reason to choose single-sex schools over
co-educational schools. It is the greatest choice for multi-sex schools since
students acquire values that last a lifetime, such as cooperation and respect.
Overall, I agree that both genders should be encouraged to interact with others.
They can learn from each other, know the behaving ways, and also respect each
other in a relationship.
