英文电子邮件四个误区：

错误一：
Your greeting is inappropriate.
你的问候语不合适。

greeting /ˈɡriːtɪŋ/ n. 问候；问候的话

例句：They exchangedgreetings.

他们相互问候了一番。

02.

不建议使用的表达：

Dears,Dear Sirs,Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,Dear Boss,Dear All.

讲解：dear虽然翻译成“亲爱的”，但并不是真正的亲热，相反会显得过于正式、生疏，因此上述表达都略显过时和老套了，不建议大家
使用。

03.

有歧义的表达：Dear John.

讲解：二战期间，很多军人收到来自妻子或女友的分手信，开头都是类似「Dear John」这样的亲密称谓。因此这些被抛弃的军人就自嘲
为 Dear Johns， Dear John letter也被称作为「分手信」了。

例句：I received a Dear John letter from my girlfriend, which broke my heart.我收到了女友的分手信，令我伤心欲绝。

推荐使用的表达：

写给单人：

Hi, Jane; Hello, Morris；John, 直接用对方名字也是可以的

写给多人：

Hey, folks, 语 气 更 轻 松 ， 相 当 于 「 小 伙 伴 们 」 , 给 老 板 就 不 能 用 这 个 了 ；Hi, everyone, 尊 重 每 一 个 人 ， 而 不 是 笼 统 称 为 Dear all；Dear

错误二：
You get to the point too quickly.
太快直入主题。

邮件开头寒暄表达：

Thank you for your e-mail.感谢来信。

Thank you for lunch yesterday.感谢昨天的午餐。

I hope your days are going well. 希望你一切顺利。

I hope you'd have a nice weekend.希望你周末愉快。

small talk 闲谈; 闲聊

例句：In Chinese culture, we need small talk to start a conversation.

在中国文化中，我们需要通过闲聊来开始一段对话。

beat around the bush

旁敲侧击；说话绕圈子

例句：We like to beat around the bush when talking business.

You don't organize your e-mails or your ideas. Good writing is concise and to the point.
没有组织清楚你的邮件和你的想法。好的文章应该是简单扼要的。

concise /kənˈsaɪs/ adj. 简明的；简洁的

例句：Teaching content should be concise.

教学内容要少而精。

02.

to the point 切中要害的，扼要的

例句：He got right to the point.

他说到点上了。

03.

建议使用的表达：

I need the paper by 5pm.

5点之前我需要这篇论文。

而不是

The paper is needed by 5pm.

论文需要在5点前被交上来。

讲解：多使用主动语态有助于更直接清晰地传达你的意思，且第二种个句子可能会给人自命不凡和做作的感觉

错误四：
You don't tell people what they should do.
你没有告诉对方他应该做什么。

推荐使用表达：

例句：Let's touch base on this next week。

关于这点，我们下周再一起碰一下。

讲解：touch base，棒球术语，引申为「跟某人碰头，通过沟通了解双方想法」。​

例句：Please let me know by Monday if you are able to attend themeeting.

请在周一前告诉我你是否能参加会议。

例句：Please give me a call or follow up with me.

请给我打个电话，一起跟进。

讲解：follow up 跟进；追踪
