IDEOLOGY OF PAKISTAN
Ideology means;

“A system of ideas and ideals, especially one

which forms the basis of economic and political

theory and policy.”

The word “Ideology” has been derived by a French thinker Claude Destutt de
Tracy. It is the science dealing with belief, notions, and theories growing out of
fundamental assumptions held by the members of a group.

An ideology emerges when people feel strongly that they are being mistreated
under an existing order, when their status is threatened by fundamental changes
occurring in the society, and when the prevailing ideology no longer satisfies
them.

In literary terms ideology means a body of ideas used in support of economic,

political or social theory. On the other hand generally it means science of ideas
and the study of origin of evolution and nature of ideas.

An ideology must contain certain important traits like; maximum people should
be united on it. It should be harmonized with feelings, emotions, traditions,
beliefs and values of a nation. There must be enough individuals in its support.

There is great importance of an ideology for a nation because it is a motivating

force for it. It is the cement-binding base to its scattered groups. It forces its
followers to join the same line of action to achieve their common goal. It gives
shape to the revolutions, cultures and civilizations. It gives an interpretation of
the past, an explanation of the present and a vision of the future.
Ideology of Pakistan

The ideology of Pakistan took shape through an evolutionary process. Allama

Iqbal gave it a philosophical explanation; the Quaid translated it into a political
reality; and by passing objective resolution in March 1949, the Constituent
assembly of Pakistan gave it legal sanction. It was due to realization of the
Muslims of India that they were different from Hindus and thus they demanded a
separate homeland.

saved Muslims and not vice versa.”
