To Whom It May Concern:

I am very happy to write a letter of recommendation for Stephanie Varela. Stephanie was in both
my English and my Honors History classes. She embodies a wonderful blend of both academic
prowess and engaging personality that makes her a well-rounded student. I was extremely
impressed by Stephanie’s ability to engage with the lesson and figure out not only what was
being taught but how it connected to other lessons as well. Stephanie also demonstrated an
attitude that exudes positivity and respect for both teachers and students. It has been wonderful
to have the opportunity to teach her.

Stephanie impressed me early in the school year with he ability to write. She blew me away with
her vivid descriptions and excellent use of language. The story demonstrated a great amount of
thought that had been put into the assignment, as well as outstanding execution. From that essay,
Stephanie only continued to impress me with her work ethic and product. I don’t know if this
was always present for her, of if these skills were honed in the several AP and college courses
she has taken throughout high school, but I have benefited from Stephanie’s determination to do
the best she could do on every assignment she turned in.

I know Stephanie has overcome a lot to get to where she is today. She only continues to impress
me with both her conitued academic success and her positivity. She has not only endured, but
she has thrived. She is interested in engineering and because of her intelligence and personality,
she is a wonderful candidate for it. I look forward to seeing what is in store for Stephanie’s
future, and I know she will be a huge success no matter where she ends up.
