specialist, I have had the pleasure of working closely with her for the last two years at the Medina
County Educational Service Center.

As the language arts teachers at the virtual academy, Ms. Evans instructed students from 4th
through 8th grade. Katharine rose to the challenge of teaching several grade levels and
consistently delivered engaging thought provoking lessons. Katharine also recognized and
considered each individual learner, and she continuously provided varied differentiation styles and
intervention strategies to ensure that every child had a clear understanding of the concepts. Ms.
Evans' enthusiastic personality was contagious. Her students were motivated and inspired by her
and they thoroughly enjoyed attending her class as she always provided a welcoming environment.
Ms. Evans’ extensive knowledge and background with socio-emotional learning has enabled her to
develop lasting relationships with her students. She consistently incorporated SEL tools in her
classroom to help students be the best version of themselves as they worked through their
challenges.

Beyond her exceptional abilities as a language arts teacher, Ms. Evans also excelled as an
extraordinary team player at the virtual academy. Working alongside Katharine to provide student
support has been a pleasure as she is always approachable and open to new ideas in order to help
students reach their fullest potential. She has a wonderful rapport with people of all ages and she
is an extremely positive, trustworthy and dependable person. Overall, Ms. Evans has shown
tremendous commitment to effectively collaborate with the staff and administration at the Medina
ESC Virtual Academy.

would be an asset to any school community.
