RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

This chapter reveals the methods of research to be employed by the researcher in conducting the study
which includes the research design, population of the study, research instrument and its development
establishing its validity and reliability, data gathering procedures, and the appropriate statistical
treatment of data

Research Design

This study employed descriptive method of researcher. The researchers attempted to get the answers
to the aforementioned problem, look into justifications that satisfy the objectives of the study. Likewise,
it also attempted to identify how suicidal bullying impact one's mental health.

The Respondents of the study

The respondent of the study are the Grade 11 students in the Laguindingan National High School.
selection of the respondents is one of the vital processes to keep this study successful. All of these
participants was selected through purposive sampling. Using this sampling method ensures that each
member of a population has a capability to become part of the sample.

The chosen respondents are containing of twenty-five (25) respondents from selected Section and
Strand in Laguindingan National High School.The Grade 11 HUMSS A of LANHS, the Grade 11 HUMSS B,
Grade 11 ABM A, and the Grade 11 ABM B. Those Grade level was chosen by the researchers because
they are suitable and applicable to the study

Sampling Technique
Purposive sampling will be used in this study. The student-respondents will purposely be chosen
because the researcher believes that through purposive sampling she can obtain a representative
sample by using a sound judgment which can also result in saving time and finances (Black K.. 2010), In
addition, it will be more easy when we use purposive sampling because of the population of the HUMSS
and ABM students.

Research Instrument

The questionnaire was used as the main data-gathering instrument. The instrument to be prepared
focused on answering the statement of the problem. The Cyberbullying and it's Impact to the Mental
Health of Grade 11 Learners. The questionnaire contains of ten (10) questions. The questionnaires will
be distributed to the respondent.

The date gathering instrument was structured as a scale ranging from 1-4. Where in the (1) is strongly
disagree, (2) is disagree, (3) is agree and the last one is (4) strongly agree. This legend will help the
researchers to analysis the result of conducting date-gathering

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers conducted a questionnaire validated by the teacher of the subject. The researchers uses
purposive sampling method, the sampling units are selected students of Grade 11 HUMSS A and B, and
Grade 11 ABM A and B. The survey was conducted during the year 2023 at Laguindingan National High
School. The participants are the HUMSS students and ABM students. The researchers had allotted
vigorous time, effort and cooperation in developing their questionnaire so as to serve it's intended
respondents. The survey was created using modified from related research and individual question
formed by the researchers.

After the respondents answered the questionnaire, the researchers collected and tallied the for the
interpretation. The questionnaire was answered by 50 participants of HUMSS Students and 50
participants of ABM Students.The research was done during the first week of December 2023.

Statistical Treatment Of Data

The following statistical procedures were used to interpret the data gathered from the respondents of
the study.

1. Simple Percentage. The demographic profiles variables of the respondents were analyzed using the
sample percentage with the following formula.

Formula:

P=-(100)

Whereas:

P = Percentage

F = Frequency

N = Total Number of Respondents

100 Constant Multiplier
