MUSIC

● Lea Salonga

Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga OL, known professionally as Lea Salonga, is a
Filipina singer, actress, producer, and columnist. Dubbed the "Pride of the Philippines",
she is best known for her roles in musical theatre, for supplying the singing voices of two
Disney Princesses (Jasmine and Mulan), and as a recording artist and television
performer. Lea Salonga is significant in our society since she is strongly involved in
supporting social and environmental causes. She has performed in a number of
fund-raising concerts and supported a number of local and international charities, such
as the World Vision Organization and the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

FASHION DESIGN

● Mak Tumang

Mark Aldane "Mak" Velasco Tumang is a Filipino fashion designer. He is


popularly known for the Mayon gown and Ibong Adarna gown, dresses that he created
for and worn by Catriona Gray who won the Miss Universe 2018 beauty pageant. He is
known for his intricate embroidery, detailed lacework, and elaborate designs, he has
taken the industry by storm. He has dressed famous celebrities and beauty queens. One
of his most recent popular pieces is the “LAVA“ gown of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona
Gray. A Mak Tumang gown has been made to the highest standard. No wonder, Mak’s
iconic designs continue to break barriers and gain recognition around the world.

VISUAL ARTS

● Fernando Amorsolo

Fernando Amorsolo y Cueto was a portraitist and painter of rural Philippine


landscapes. Nicknamed the "Grand Old Man of Philippine Art," he was the first ever to
be recognized as a National Artist of the Philippines. Fernando Amorsolo painted and
sketched more than ten thousand pieces over his lifetime using natural and backlighting
techniques. His most known works are of the damaging Filipina, landscapes of his
Filipino homeland, portraits, and WWII war scenes. He was known as the “Grand Old
Man of Philippine Art” because of his masterful use of light and dark colors and
depiction of the “Philippine sunlight”.

DANCE

● AC Bonifacio

Andree Camille Lapidario Bonifacio, known professionally as AC Bonifacio, is a


Canadian-born Filipino dancer, singer, vlogger, and actress known for being the
first-ever grand champion of Filipino TV dance competition Dance Kids along with
Lucky Ancheta In 2016. The duo was called "Lucky Aces." In July 2020, AC was the
runner-up in Blackpink's and YG Entertainment's official dance cover contest. In
October 2021, International choreographer Kiel Tutin praised AC's dance rendition of
K-pop diva Lisa's "Money," calling her performance "mind-blowing."

FILM OR THEATER

● Lino Brocka

Lino Brocka is widely regarded as one of the most influential and significant
filmmakers in the history of Philippine cinema. He co-founded the organization
Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP), dedicated to helping artists address issues
confronting the country, and the Free the Artist Movement. Catalino Ortiz Brocka was a
Filipino film director. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential and
significant filmmakers in the history of Philippine cinema. He was a director and writer,
known for Dirty Affair (1990), Bayan Ko (1984), and Above Everything Else (1991). He
died on 22 May 1991 in Quezon City, Philippines.

ARCHITECTURE

● Ildefonso P. Santos Jr.

Ildefonso Paez Santos Jr., popularly known simply as "IP Santos", was a Filipino
architect who was known for being the "Father of Philippine Landscape Architecture."
He was recognized as a National Artist of the Philippines in the field of Architecture in
2006. He was a graduate of the University of Sto. Tomas and the University of Southern
California, his works include the landscaping of the Cultural Center of the Philippines,
Manila Hotel, Nayong Pilipino, Paco Park, and Rizal Park, among others. He was
bestowed with the title of "national artist" for his outstanding achievement in
architecture and allied arts on June 9, 2006. Among the locations that comprise IP
Santos' body of work are the landscaping of: the Cultural Center of the Philippines
Complex. Makati Commercial Center.
