BƯỚC 3: XÁC ĐỊNH TỪ ĐỂ HỎI

Lưu ý: Từ bị gạch chân sẽ không xuất hiện trong câu hỏi.

Nếu trong câu:

1. Sử dụng động từ “thường” => ta phải mượn trợ động từ => đảo trợ động từ lên
trước chủ ngữ và sau từ để hỏi.
Eg: They play football every day.
=> What do they play every day?
2. Sử dụng động từ “tobe”, “động từ khuyết thiếu” => ta chỉ cần đảo “động từ tobe”
hoặc “động từ khuyết thiếu” lên trước chủ ngữ và sau từ để hỏi:
Eg: She is planting trees now.
=> What is she planting now?
3. Nếu trong câu có từ bị gạch chân dùng những từ sau thì khi chuyển sang câu hỏi ta
phải đổi các từ tương ứng như sau:

I, We -> you
me, us -> you
mine, ours -> yours
my, our -> your
some -> any

1. Xác định từ gạch chân: chỉ người/ vật/ số đếm/ số tiền/ hành động/ tính từ,...

2. Chọn từ để hỏi thích hợp

2. Xác định các thành phần của câu (S, V, O, …)

3. Xác định chủ ngữ: Số nhiều hay số ít

4. Xác định THÌ qua động từ chính trong câu, hoặc cấu trúc câu đặc biệt.

5. Nếu là động từ thường: chọn trợ động từ thích hợp với chủ ngữ và thì

6. Đặt câu
Nếu câu hỏi dạng “Wh-question” ta có thể áp dụng cấu trúc sau:

Wh-words + auxiliary verb + S + V + O?

(Auxiliary verbs: do, does, did, has, have, will, may, can, could,…)

Wh-words + tobe + S + O?
(To be: am, are, is, was, were)

MỘT SỐ TỪ ĐỂ HỎI HAY GẶP TRONG TIẾNG ANH:

What: cái gì  This is your birthday present.

(hỏi cho đồ vật, sự vật, sự kiện…)  What is this?

What kind: loại nào  I like pop music.

 What kind of music do you like?

What color: màu sắc  What color is the cat?

What size: hỏi kích cỡ  What size T-shirt do you wear?

Why: tại sao  Why did you go to bed late last night?
(hỏi về lý do, nguyên nhân, mục đích)

Who: ai  Who is the manager of this coffee

(hỏi người) shop?

Whom: người mà  I buy him some books.

(hỏi cho tân ngữ chỉ người)  Who/whom do you buy any books
(for)?

Whose: của ai  This is her book.

(hỏi cho TTSH, sở hữu cách, đại từ sở hữu)  Whose book is this?

Where: ở đâu  Where do you want to meet for

(hỏi vị trí, nơi chốn) lunch?

When: khi nào  When are we going to the movie?

(hỏi về thời gian, thời điểm)
Which: cái mà/nào
(hỏi khi có sự lựa chọn)
How: thế nào, như thế nào, làm thế nào,…
(hỏi cho tính từ, trạng từ, sức khoẻ,…)
So sánh từ để hỏi khi đóng vai trò là “tân ngữ”/ “chủ ngữ” trong câu:
 How many people survived the
flood?
(Có bao nhiêu người sống sót sau
 Which class are you in?
 How do you go to school?
 How do you cook this?
Một số cách đặt câu hỏi với how:
1. How old: hỏi tuổi
2. How often…: hỏi về mức độ, tần
suất, số lần.
3. How tall: hỏi về chiều cao của người
4. How high: hỏi về chiều cao của vật
5. How heavy: hỏi cân nặng
6. How thick: hỏi độ dày
7. How thin: hỏi độ mỏng
8. How big: hỏi độ lớn
9. How wide: hỏi độ rộng
10.How broad: hỏi bề rộng
11. How deep: hỏi độ sâu
12. How fast: hỏi tốc độ
13. How far … from … to: hỏi độ xa
14. How long: hỏi độ dài/thời gian
15. How much + N (ko đếm được): hỏi
giá cả
16. How many + N(s,es): hỏi số lượng
với danh từ đếm được.
 Ở đây, “ how many people ” là chủ ngữ, với
động từ “survived” theo ngay sau đó, vì vậy
bạn không cần dùng trợ động từ.

(Bạn đã phỏng vấn bao nhiêu trong câu là “you” => vì vậy ta cần phải dùng
