TOPIC SPEAKING

TOPIC 1: Describe a place of interest in your hometown

Vietnam has not only the beautiful landscape but also the traditional craft villages. Some
famous of them are Bat Trang Village, Quat Dong Embroidery Village, Chuong Conical Hat
Village in Ha Noi, Dong Ho Painting Village in Bac Ninh, Conical Hat Making Villages in
Hue. For me, Hue is one of the most famous places, with many conical hat-making villages
such as Da Le, Phu Cam, Doc So, Trieu Tay, and Tay Ho. Conical hats, also known as non
la, have been an iconic symbol of Vietnamese culture for centuries. Hue's conical hats has
different styles and designs, featuring famous Hue landscapes. Some hats have Hue poetry,
known as non bai tho, and feature unique characteristics. I think the government should
develop and improve transportation to make it easier for artisans to access markets and
materials. They also establish training programs to enhance the skills of artisans to compete
in the international markets. Besides, the government should have financial support and
encourage the preservation of cultural heritage by supporting artisans in maintaining
traditional techniques.
TOPIC 2: Talk about the city life
There are some advantages when living in the city. Besides being more active, you get to
have a better lifestyle compared to living in a remote part of the country. In the city, you can
find everything you need without going too far. Whether it is shopping, dining,
entertainment, or healthcare. Moreover, it is very easy to find a job in a metropolitan area,
whether you are currently employed or looking for new employment. There is a much
greater variety of entertainment options in the city. However, one of the most serious
problems in big cities is air pollution. The overcrowded transport systems and the smoke
from many factories are the main reasons that make the air more polluted. I think to deal
with this problem, we should use public transport, walk or cycle more. We also should plant
more trees. Trees also release oxygen into the atmosphere. Using less energy is one of the
most useful ways to reduce air pollution. Despite some disadvantages, I still choose city life
as it seems to be the best choice for me. I will have more opportunities to access better
education system and diverse culture.
TOPIC 3: Talk about teen stress and pressure and how to cope with them
Sometimes, I have some pressure from my parents, my friends and school. Firstly, I'm so
tired to trying to meet my parents' expectations. They want me to study well and be good at
many things, so they send me to many classes after school. I don't have much time to hang
out with my friends or participate in any social activities. Secondly, I have too many exams
and too much homework at school. Sometimes, I don't have enough time to finish.
Moreover, I think I am in a competition with my peers to be the best in everything. Because
of these pressure, I often stressed out and sometimes I have negatives emotions and thinking.
To deal with these problems, I think I should talk to my parents first. I'll talk about my
pressure and ask them some advice. Besides, I should plan my time to finish my homework.
Thirdly, I can organize my time to relax and rest to reduce my stress.
I think learning life skills is necessary for teenagers because of some reasons. Beside
building independence, it also teach social- emotional learning skills that teens need such as
self- awareness, self management, responsible decision-making, and helps them create and
maintain their relationships with their family, or their friends.
TOPIC 4: Talk about children's pastime in the past
I think the children in the past often played tug of war or hide- and seek, flew a kite on the
pasture and they often played Dragon and Snake. I like these traditional games because they
have a positive and necessary influence on Vietnam's culture. Besides, they made it easier
and faster for children to make friends.
In my opinion, physical activities are still good for teenagers in modern time because they
not only improve health and strength and flexibility but also plays an important role in
teenager's mental. It helps reduce their stress, anxiety and depression. Moreover,
participating in physical activities improves social connections, teamwork, and discipline,
especially in group sports.
TOPIC 5: Describe a wonder of Vietnam
There are some famous natural wonders of Vietnam such as Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh,
Phong Nha-Ke Bang in Quang Binh, Phu Quoc Island, Ly Son Island, and Ba Be National
Park. Among them, Ha Long Bay is a truly magical scene. One of the most amazing features
of this place is the wonderful combination of its crystal-clear water and thousands of
limestone islands and isles. The high cliffs and caves, formed for centuries, aslo make Ha
Long Bay a truly spectacular sight.
I don't think why we should limit the number of tourists who come to visit these sites.
Firstly, tourism is a significant contributor to the economy, providing jobs and income for
local communities. Besides, tourism promotes cultural exchange and understanding between
people from different countries. Finally, it provides an opportunity to educate visitors about
the importance of preserving natural wonders.
TOPIC 6: Talk about some changes in your hometown.
In Vietnam, a fascinating combination of traditional and modern transportation systems
reflects the country's rich cultural heritage and rapid economic development. Traditional
modes of transport include cyclos, three-wheeled bicycle taxis popular for short city trips,
and xe om, motorcycle taxis commonly used for convenient urban travel. In rural areas,
buffalo carts were a popular means of transporting goods and people. On the modern front,
they prefer motorbikes and scooters, dominating the urban streets, while cars, buses, and
taxis provide efficient city-wide and intercity transport. We are also proud of an extensive
railway network for long-distance travel, and international flights.
In my opinion, I prefer public buses because they connect different regions, so I can easily
travel . They are a cost-effective means of transportation for both short and long distance. I
can enjoy the view when I'm on a bus. Moreover, it helps reduce my carbon footprint.
