METHODOLOGY

The researcher presents the method used in gathering the date among the respondents. It

includes research design, locale of the study, respondents, research instrument, and data

gathering procedure.

Research Design

This study used a survey as its research design, with a series of questions designed to

elicit particular data from Grade 12 SMAW Students who are influenced by smoking. This

approach allows for a deeper understanding of the participants’ experiences, attitudes, and

motivations. The study will involve surveys with the students during recess time or vacant time,

enabling them to share their personal stories and perspectives on smoking. The researchers

created questions for the respondents to respond to on the survey form.

Locale of The Study

This study be conducted at La Paz National High School San Roque La Paz Tarlac.

Respondent of The Study

The subject of this study is composed of 45 students in Grade 12 SMAW (Shielded Metal

Arc Welding) at La Paz National High School. This Study discusses the habits and causes that

make it challenging for students to abstain from smoking in school. They would be the
individuals observed, surveyed, or interviewed to gather data for the study. They were selected

using random sampling to ensure representative data collection.

Data Gathering Tools

In this research, we used survey questionnaire to gathered data among Grade12 SMAW

Students of La Paz National High School during their vacant or break time, we conducted this

survey to able to know the reasons of their Smoking Behavior.

Data Gathering Procedure

This research sought the permission of the Subject Teacher to gather date from Grade 12

SMAW at La Paz National High School. Questionnaire was administered to the Grade 12 SMAW

by the researcher upon the approval of the request letter to conduct the research.

Upon approval, the researchers will conduct a survey to the respondents by distributing

the questionnaire to them and the given questionnaire will be answered briefly and concisely by

the respondents. After the total return of the questionnaire, the data will be collected and

classified. The results of the study will be identified as proofs of this research study.
